Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides his Play Of The Week in College Football Week 9 action. After reviewing the NCAAF odds has found lots of value in a low-key matchup.

North Texas Mean Green vs Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners

This game is the perfect example of how a team viewed as a bad program that got off to a bad start to the season in September can go undervalued for weeks on end when they start to show signs of turning things around. That has been the case with North Texas who have been steadily improving in recent weeks and have been flying well under the radar of the betting markets. The Mean Green are 4-3 SU, 5-1-1 ATS this season and have won three of their last four games and all of them were outright underdog wins against Rice, Marshall, and Army--suddenly this team is two wins away from bowl eligibility which seemed impossible prior to the season.

North Texas is making steady improvements on defense allowing 39 points in their last two games combined and freshman QB Mason Fine is settling into the starter's role with 4 TD's and just 1 INT in his last four starts. They catch Texas-San Antonio at a good time as UTSA is in a very tough spot here following an exhausting 5 OT thriller last week against UTEP in which they lost 52-49. I think there could be a hangover effect for the Roadrunners in this game as teams like UTSA lack depth and it could come back to hurt them especially when being asked to lay points against an in-state rival which should inspire a very strong effort from North Texas in this game.

UTSA is 0-3 ATS as favorites this season with this being a particularly bad pointspread role for them. North Texas beat UTSA 30-23 last season and I think they are right in the hunt to win this game as well making the more than a FG underdog tag worth taking on the surging Mean Green.
