Nebraska pulled out a second straight win in last Saturday’s 17-13 triumph over the Michigan Wolverines, cashing as a 5 ½-point road dog. Cornhuskers running back Ameer Abdullah caught a late touchdown pass, while dashing for 105 yards to break the century mark for a sixth straight outing.
Michigan State has been idle for an extra week following its own victory against the Wolverines, the Spartans prevailed in a 29-6 win as four-point home ‘chalk.’ The Spartans allowed a tight 168 total yards, holding Brady Hoke’s crew to a 2-for-14 mark in third-down conversions.
Nebraska has cashed ATS in its last two meetings with the Spartans, while logging a 9-4-1 spread mark in its last 14 home dates. Look for the Cornhuskers to get the money again here, with Abdullah’s rushing attack moving the chains in Lincoln. As the past has shown, Nebraska could very well be the better college football pick for this game.
Pick: Nebraska Cornhuskers +6 ½ at Bet365
Oklahoma State thrashed the Kansas Jayhawks in last week’s 42-6 victory, collecting as a 31 ½-point home favorite. The Cowboys jumped out to a 28-0 halftime lead, with quarterback Clint Chelf tossing three touchdowns in his side’s limited 22 minutes of possession.
Texas was also victorious on the same card, coming away with a 47-40 overtime win against the West Virginia Mountaineers. Longhorns wide outs Mike Davis and Jaxon Shipley caught one score each, uniting for 173 yards as part of 10 receptions.
The Longhorns have cashed both of their tickets as underdogs this year, topping the Oklahoma Sooners and TCU Horned Frogs by a combined margin of 66-27. Mack Brown’s squad gets my call again here, with Oklahoma State going an overvalued 2-5 ATS in its last seven road spots against rivals with winning home records. Before making your final decision, make sure to check the college football odds to see who is the better bet.
Pick: Texas Longhorns +3 at Ladbrokes
Miami picked up a second straight loss in last Saturday’s 42-24 setback against the Virginia Tech Hokies, allowing 549 total yards. Hurricanes quarterback Stephen Morris was held to 12 first downs in a sparse 21 minutes with the ball, while the Hokies went on to cash for my followers as 4 ½-point road dogs.
Duke has quietly notched a 4-1 spread record as part of a five-game winning streak making them a very attractive college football pick amongst sportsbooks. They capped off the winning streak with last week’s 38-20 triumph over the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Blue Devils cornerback DeVon Edwards returned two interceptions for touchdowns, while wide out Jamison Crowder cruised for 134 receiving yards on seven catches.
Miami still finds itself reeling from its collapse two weeks ago against Florida State, while lacking in its backfield from Duke Johnson being out. Look for the Hurricanes to fall again here, with the hot Blue Devils adding another cashed ticket to their 12-5 spread record in the team’s last 17 home contests.
Pick: Duke Blue Devils +3 at The Greek
