With just 3 games on the slate in college football for Friday, going into the weekend's games, we intend on providing you with a decisive betting edge with our NCAA Football Picks of the Day for Friday.

San Jose State Spartans (2-5, 1-2) vs San Diego State Aztecs (5-1, 2-0)Aztecs In Complete Control

The San Diego Aztecs come into this game in complete control in the West Division of the Mountain West Conference as all of the teams behind them have losing records. The only thing that they have to be cautious about in this game is that San Jose State has managed to break a 4 game losing streak last week with a 14-10 win over Nevada. That said, Nevada is a team below .500 and the level of competition will become greater for the Spartans as they deal with the running of senior running back, Donnel Phumphrey and a San Diego State defense which allows less than 100 yards on the ground per game.

NFL In His Future

I know that he's not facing teams the caliber of an Alabama Crimson Tide team, but running back Donnel Pumphrey has been flatout dominant throughout his collegiate career.

This is Pumphrey's 3rd successive year of over 1000 yards rushing and appears to be his 3rd consecutive season of 1653 yards rushing or more. We're only 6 games into the season and Pumphrey has rushed for 1111 yards with 11 TD's on 6.7 yards per carry.  Pumphrey is also coming off of a 220 yard 2 TD performance in a 17-3 win over Fresno State.

I don't see the Spartans defense containing Pumphrey and this is the key to winning the game for San Diego State. Usually a respective team has a few keys to winning a game and in this case, it's very simple for the San Diego State Aztecs. Feed Pumphrey the football against a San Jose rushing defense which allows 228 yards rushing per game. The Aztecs also have the defense to back up their cause. For this game, my NCAAF pick is that it will be a blowout in favor of San Diego State.

Oregon Ducks (2-4, 0-3) at California Golden Bears (3-3, 1-2)88.5 Points Is the Total!

Although the Ducks can score, we aren't looking at the same kind of team that played when Marcus Mariota was the quarterback as this Ducks defense has more holes than Swiss Cheese.

The Ducks are on a 4 game losing streak in which they've allowed an average 49.3 points per game, highlighted by last week's 70-21 loss to #5 Washington. I don't know how a team recovers from a loss such as that, but the Ducks face a team of much lesser quality than the Huskies in the .500 Golden Bears. While Cal can score points (42.3 ppg), their defense is also one of the worst in college football (40 ppg allowed) and this is why the betting total is so high.

Each of California's 3 losses were by 10 point or less and they have a victory over a ranked team in Texas to their credit.

Davis Webb to Chad Hansen

Can Oregon's defense stop these two stars from connecting on a regular basis is the question? Most teams that the Golden Bears have faced have been unsuccessful in doing so as Hansen has been injured and still managed to catch 59 balls for 770 yards and 8 TD's. In his first 4 games of the season, Hansen has had 50 catches for 656 yards and 6 TD's. Look for Hansen, who will play on Friday, to pick up where he left off in week 4 as he has a flame thrower in the form of Davis Webb throwing the football to him.

Webb himself ,has been battling a hand injury, but he's expected to play and when he plays, he's been unstoppable, throwing for 396 yards or more on 4 different occasions this season and also throwing 4 touchdowns or more in 5 out of Cal's 6 games. This team is very predictable as the passing game is their primary source of offense, but no team has been able to stop them.

Bleeding the Clock

This is what Oregon will want to do as they want to prevent the California offense from being on the field. It all starts with their running game and running backs, Royce Freeman and Tony Brooks-James. Both running backs have been quite effective, scoring 13 rushing TD's combined and both players averaging 7 yards per carry or more.

As the betting total in the college football odds indicates, we're going to see a lot of points being scored, but 88.5 is not a number to mess with. Instead, we like the Golden Bears offense, which possesses an unstoppable passing attack.
