The Oregon Ducks will look to build upon last week's 54-35 win over a rather good Arizona Sun Devils squad. Can Oregon pull off the upset for a 2nd straight week in this Pac-12 matchup? Here's our College Football Pick.

As expected, oddsmakers give refuse to give the Ducks any respect for last week's win as they're a 17 point underdog and the betting total is a whopping 78 1/2 points according to 5Dimes Sportsbook. In every game this season, the Oregon Ducks have allowed 35 points or more. This including back to back games in which they allowed 121 points to Washington State and Washington. Both games were part of their 5 game losing streak.

Fantastic Freshman

The future is bright for the Ducks at the quarterback position as freshman Justin Herbert took over for an ineffective Dakota Prokup and Herbert has played rather well. In a little more than 3 games this season, Herbert has managed 996 yards passing with 12 TD's and 2 INT's. He threw for 489 yards and 4 touchdowns in Oregon's last game, a 54-35 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils and Herbert has thrown for 10 TD's in his last 2 games alone. I don't expect the USC to contain him and this game has the potential to be competitive.

Offense Isn't An Issue For Oregon

To go along with a productive passing attack, the Ducks feature to 500 yard runners in Royce Freeman and Tony Brooks-James. Both players have found the endzone a combined 16 times through the running game.

Oregon has many offensive weapons in their passing game and overall they should give USC a run for their money. The issue as in all of their games is their defense. The Oregon defense put up their best effort last week against Arizona State and will need to put up a similar or even better performance against USC as the Ducks come into this game, according to 5 Dimes Sportsbook, a 17 point underdog, and the defense is mostly responsible for this line.

Trojans Gaining Momentum

After a 52-6 beating to Alabama in the season opener and a dismal 1-3 start to the season, the USC Trojans have picked themselves off the ground, dusted themselves off, and have run off 4 straight impressive victories. One of these wins came against a ranked Colorado team in a 21-17 defensive battle. The Trojans look to carry this momentum over to this game as they're looking to play in the best bowl game possible.

Sam Darnold

Much like Justin Herbert, quarterback Sam Darnold, has been very effective in his first season at the collegiate level. For the season, Darnold has thrown for 18 TD's and 3 INT's including 1565 yards of passing offense. The USC offensive line has held up their end of the bargain as Darnold has been sacked a mere 3 times. Darnold is also on a roll as of late, throwing for 10 TD's and 1 INT in his last 2 games. This is a quarterback that provides his team the best chance to win and won't beat himself.

JuJu Smith Schuster

USC features a receiver in Smith-Schuster that can definitely play at the next level. This is a player that caught for over 1400 yards last season and has caught for 100 yards in 3 out of his last 4 games. We should see a monster game out of the junior receiver as we already know that the Oregon defense is atrocious. Smith has great size and speed and this is a great spot for him and the Trojans offense.

Let's also not forget about the 223 yard performance that running back, Ronald Jones II put up last week in a victory over California. He too, will be licking his chops at the thought of facing this Ducks defense.

While I'm not thrilled messing with a betting total this high, the Oregon defense is so bad that the over is a safe bet here.
