This weekend, the Tigers head back to home and will welcome Florida and their vaunted defense.
James Franklin's injury has had an effect on the college football odds, that's for sure. Who knows what this line would have been if he was healthy and ready to go.
In any case, the Tigers will roll with freshman QB Maty Mauk, and oddsmakers have set the home team as three-point underdogs. Meanwhile, the total opened at around 44.5 but has dropped to 43.5.
If you didn't know, this Tigers offense is explosive.
Missouri is putting up 45.7 points per game, which ranks them eighth in all of the country. They're averaging 239.3 rushing yards and 276.3 passing yards a contest, while their defense (23.0 PPG allowed) hasn't been too shabby either.
It was all on display last week in the Tigers' 41-26 road win over Georgia. Franklin was 18-of-27 for 170 yards and a touchdown and added a score on the ground, while Marcus Murphy and Henry Josey combined for 108 yards and two more touchdowns. L'Damian Washington was the main threat in the passing game, catching seven balls for 115 yards and two scores.
The only serious negative to come from that game was the injury to Franklin. There's been a lot of speculation going on about whether or not Mauk will be able to step in and get the job done, but he looked pretty good in relief of Franklin against the Bulldogs and will have the support of the home crowd behind him here.
The thing is, Missouri has enough offensive weapons surrounding their inexperienced quarterback that he's doesn't need to be superstar out there. As long as he avoids mental mistakes, Mauk should be just fine.
The Gators will be chomping (pun intended) at the bit to get back in action after losing 17-6 on the road to LSU last week.
It was a tough fight throughout, but the Florida offense just couldn't get anything going whatsoever. With 240 total yards of offense and only two field goals to show for it, the Gators were held to their lowest scoring output of the season.
That being said, it's Florida defense that's going to be the focal point of the team's success, and that's already been proven true. The Gators are allowing a mere 13.0 points per game, the fourth-best mark in Division I.
Already this season Florida has held Miami to 21 points (season average of 45.2), Tennessee to 17 (season average of 31.7) and LSU to 17 (season average of 41.4).
But injuries have been killer to Will Muschamp's team. The Gators just lost running back Matt Jones to a serious knee injury and he's now the fifth starter that will miss the remainder of the season, a list that of course includes QB Jeff Driskel.

College Football Pick
We wouldn't call this much of an upset, but the Tigers are underdogs for this game and we believe they'll win straight up.
There's no doubt that Franklin's injury is a considerable blow, but we have faith in Mauk to stay disciplined and keep Missouri above water. He's got a great ground attack surrounding him and a number of receivers who can make plays.
Going up against this daunting Florida defense, we look for Mauk and the Tigers to do enough to win for our college football picks and keep their spotless record intact.
