Baylor is a 45-point road favorite on the college football odds for their game against Kansas. Are the Bears capable of covering such a large spread is the question?

Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. EST on Saturday October 10th at Kivisto Field at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence, Kansas. According to 5Dimes, the Bears are a 45-point betting favorite on the college football odds board and for good reason as they have dominated their opponents offensively and Kansas has been outscored 151 to 88 in their 4 losses. This game can turn ugly real quickly as Baylor's high-powered offense appears to be unstoppable and Kansas is lacking in the defensive department. The question in this game is not who wins, but by how many points will Baylor crush Kansas by?

How Good Are They?
In their first 4 games, the Baylor Bears have averaged 745 yards per game and  done in an evenly distributed fashion. Their lowest scoring output thus far was a 56-21 victory over SMU. This is as good as it gets. Although it would be interesting to see the Bears face a defense the caliber of Alabama's I still think that they would be prodcutive. This is if not the best team in the nation.

Russell To Coleman
You will be seeing the combination of quarterback Seth Russell to wide out Corey Coleman all day long, or at least until the 2nd and 3rd stringers enter the game. Russell hasn't thrown for less than 4 touchdowns in a game this season and Coleman has been a recipient of most of those 19 touchdowns. For the season, Coleman has caught 11 touchdown passes on 24 receptions for 570 yards.

A Perfect Balance
The Baylor receiving core is comprised of big play players. Coleman, Jay Lee, and KD Cannon all average over 20 yards per catch. I don't expect Kansas to have an answer for the passing game. The offense also has a rushing game with big-time playmakers.

Including Russell, the top 4 rushers on Baylor average 7.8 yards or more per carry. Shock Linwood is the leading rusher on this team and in his last 3 games, has 54 carries for 509 yards and 6 touchdowns. This team has the perfect balance of rushing and offense that will have the Kansas defense stuck in their cleats.

Very Predictable
We take a look at the Kansas offense and for a team that has amassed 88 points in 4 games, they only have 2 touchdowns via the pass, therefore this team is predictable.

Ke'aun Kinner will need to put his best foot forward as he'll be shouldering the load and is the only legitimate threat on this squad. For the season, Kinner has 341 yards rushing and 5 TD's. If the Jayhawks indeed do decide to throw the football, Tre' Parmalee is the go to guy, but as I stated, this is an ineffective team where the pass is concerned. I would expect Kinner to get a ton of work as Kansas attempts to slow down the clock as much as possible, but I still like Baylor for my college football picks.
