No. 9 ranked UCF will put their undefeated streak on the line when they welcome the Temple Owls to Spectrum Stadium on Thursday night. Let’s analyze this matchup and check out what the oddsmakers are dealing.

Once again we have the makings of a team with a perfect record being snubbed by the College Football Playoff committee. The UCF Knights fit that description this season and could very well win their remaining four games but find themselves on the outside looking in as the big boys from the major conferences take their seats at the CFP table. Yet, before we get there the Knights have to win on Thursday night against their guests from Temple.

The Owls won’t be an easy out as they roll into this game winning five of their last six and have been nothing but money for all those backing them in their college football picks by covering in all six of those contests. Temple also has a perfect conference record and a win on Thursday night could help sew up the AAC East with UCF trailing right behind. The Owls have a tough enough defense (No. 30 in points allowed) to keep the UCF offense from running wild, yet the college football odds are showing Temple getting a generous 10-point start and for a conference game with two top teams that’s just too much. Back the Owls plus the points in our three team parlay.

Ohio (5-3 SU, 5-3 ATS) at Western Michigan (6-3 SU, 3-6 ATS)Thursday, 7 PM ET (ESPNU)Free NCAAF Pick: Bobcats

Western Michigan saw their six-game winning streak snapped last week in a 51-24 home loss to MAC rival Toledo. Freshman QB Kaleb Eleby took the reins in place of incumbent starter Jon Wassink (ankle) and performed admirably by connecting on 23-of-28 for 293 yards with two touchdowns and no picks. He will be back in the saddle again this week for the Broncos.

Ohio has won four of their last five and covered five of their last six after their dominating 52-14 win over Ball State. The Bobcats have a punishing ground game, ranked 15th in the nation, and an offense that is averaging over 38 points per game. This is a favorable matchup for the Cats as Western Michigan will have to rely on a freshman starter who, despite a solid debut, will see plenty of pressure from a rugged Ohio pass rush. Lay the small number and add Ohio to this three-time parlay.

Northern Illinois (5-3 SU, 4-4 ATS) at Akron (4-3 SU, 3-4 ATS)Thursday, 7 PM ET (CBSSN)Free NCAAF Pick: Akron

Here we have a battle between two stout defenses but offenses on both sides that are less than intimidating. The similarities between these teams are more striking than their differences, which is why the home dog looks ripe for the pluckin’. Akron has won their last two while Northern Illinois is getting more buzz and more respect because they have reeled off four consecutive wins and covered the number in three. The Zips are 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight up win while the Huskies are 1-5 ATS in their past six after a cover.
