The South Carolina Gamecocks will look to make it four straight wins over the Georgia Bulldogs Saturday, but what are the betting odds hinting at? Find out where we plan on placing our NCAAF picks in this monster of a matchup.

Let’s take a closer look at the College Football odds for this Southeastern Conference matchup, with the opening kickoff scheduled for 4:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Solid opener

South Carolina picked up a 27-10 victory over the North Carolina Tar Heels as 11-point home favorites last Thursday, while going UNDER the betting total of 56.

The Gamecocks won the statistical battle by 113 yards, as they look to improve to 12-1 versus their top rivals over the last three-plus seasons (Clemson, Georgia, Florida and Tennessee).

A must-win situation?

College football handicappers often place too much emphasis on must-win situations when looking over the odds board—a mistake in my opinion due to it already being reflected in the line.

Georgia will look to bounce back from a disappointing 38-35 loss to the Clemson Tigers as 1.5-point road favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total of 70.5.

Success in this series

Steve Spurrier is 15-5 SU in his career against Georgia, with the offense gaining 356 or more yards in the last four meetings in this series—a number that should be reached again due to the offensive line likely being his strongest group since arriving in Columbia.

South Carolina is 5-0-1 ATS in the last six games in this series, while the UNDER is 5-2 in the last seven contests in this stadium.

Murray has failed against top opponents

There’s no doubt that Bulldogs senior Aaron Murray is one of the top signal-callers in the nation, but he’s compiled a dismal 1-10 SU mark against Top 10 foes since arriving on campus in Athens.

He completed 11 of 31 passes for 109 yards and an interception in last year’s 35-7 defeat to South Carolina as one-point road underdogs.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Gamecocks with their College Football picks, as they’ve gone 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games, while the Bulldogs are 4-5 ATS in September the last two-plus seasons.
