The South Carolina Gamecocks and UCF Knights are both coming off bye weeks, as they prepare to meet up Saturday. Find out why we believe that the total offers the best value for your college football picks.

Let’s take a closer look at the college football odds for this non-conference matchup at Bright House Networks Stadium, with the opening kickoff scheduled for 12:00 p.m. ET on ABC.

ake a look at my College Football Picks: Opening Odds Report for Week 5.

Hitting the road

South Carolina hits the road for the second time this season, as it suffered a 41-30 setback to the Georgia Bulldogs in its first game away from Columbia on Sept. 7, while going OVER the betting total of 55 in that contest.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are averaging 479.7 total yards per game this season—going above the betting total in five of its last seven games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous contest.

Unchartered territory

UCF has scored at least 30 points in its first three games of a season for the first time in school history—winning the statistical battle in each of those affairs—including a 34-31 victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions as 4.5-point road underdogs in Week 3.

The Knights are 1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS as underdogs the last two-plus seasons, with the OVER going 4-3 in that situation.

Streaking against non-conference foes

College football handicappers may elect to lay the points in this situation, as the Gamecocks have won 17 consecutive regular-season games against non-conference opponents.

It’s also important to point out that the program has scored 72 of its 92 points this season in the opening 30 minutes, which could play a pivotal role in allowing a backdoor cover by the home team Saturday.

Youth movement

The Knights may lack the necessary experience to pick up their first-ever victory over the Gamecocks, as they’ve dropped the first three meetings in this series, while possessing the second-fewest seniors in the country.

UCF is 2-14 SU all-time when taking on Southeastern Conference opponents, but this will be the first time it gets to host South Carolina.

I’m going to recommend that readers look to the total with their college football picks, as the OVER is 3-0 in UCF”s last three games as underdogs of 3.5 to 10 points.
