Losers of five straight, the Rainbow Warriors are in straight up desperation mode right now. Will they cover the college football odds as underdogs at home to Air Force this weekend?

Odds Overview
The college football odds are very much in Air Force's favor for this weekend's game in Hawaii. The Falcons are favored by anywhere from six to seven points, depending on which sportsbook you check over.

Right now the total is trading at 50.5 points, with Hawaii and Air Force averaging 30 and 32 points, respectively, per game thus far this season.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors
You'd have to go all the way back to the third week of the season to find the last time Hawaii was able to pick up a win (47-27 against UCD). Since that victory, the Rainbow Warriors have hit a wall, losing five consecutive games to drop to 2-6 overall on the year. They've yet to win a conference game and therefore are at the bottom in the Mountain West.

On average, Hawaii is averaging an even 30.0 points per game, with the defense allowing 31.8 points a contest, numbers that they'll be looking to improve upon here this weekend. Considering how poorly this defensive unit has been playing, you can see why the Rainbow Warriors have struggled like they have.

Max Wittek hasn't been getting the job done at quarterback, throwing four more interceptions (11) than he has touchdowns (seven). Marcus Kemp has been the team's leading receiver, while Paul Harris has been the lead dog in the backfield, with 476 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season. As we talked about though, we're more worried about Hawaii's defense ahead of a meeting with an Air Force team that just scored 42 points last week and has averaged over 30 points a game this season.

Air Force Falcons
A hot start saw the Falcons win their first two games with no resistance, but they then went on to lose three of their next four. This past week, though, they got back on track with a dominant 42-14 win over Fresno State in front of their home fans. It was the perfect way to re-gain some positivity ahead of this trip to face the Rainbow Warriors.

When Air Force has had success this season, it's been because of a focused running attack. The Falcons have run the ball with reckless abandon, racking up 432 carries for 2,331 yards and 24 touchdowns. Jacobi Owens, Shayne Davern, Karson Roberts, D.J. Johnson and Benton Washington (and even a few others) have gotten in on the action. Averaging 333.0 rushing yards per game, Air Force will take the nation's third-most prolific running attack into this showdown with Hawaii.

With that said, we already know what the plan of attack is going to be for Air Force. Run, run, and run the ball some more. If it isn't broke, don't fix it, especially against an "inferior" opponent in Hawaii.....right?

Betting Analysis
It's hard to be impressed with what the Rainbow Warriors have done lately, but we do see this as a favorable spot for them to be very competitive, at the very least.

The losses are piling up, but Hawaii has been hanging around in recent weeks and has had chances to win. The Rainbow Warriors will need to step up their game defensively, especially when it comes to stopping the run, if they're to have a chance at the upset against Air Force.

With our college football picks, we're going to be rolling with Hawaii to stay relatively close. We don't love the idea of backing either one of these teams, so in the end we're going to take the safe route and take the home underdogs in this spot.
