The Orange will hope to avoid a fifth straight loss when they run head first into the Seminoles, who were just handed their first loss of the season. Let's review the college football odds and look for the value.

Odds Overview
The college football odds are very much in Florida State's favor, which is no surprise at all. The Orange just continue to come up short week after week, and it's been a long while since they've tasted a victory.

While the Seminoles also ended up on the losing side last weekend, they're widely expected to bounce back emphatically. They're favored by as many as 20.5 points at a lot of the top sportsbooks, with a total available at 52.

Florida State Seminoles
A red-hot start saw the Seminoles race out to a 6-0 record, although it should be noted that they have yet to play a ranked opponent this season. They've benefitted from a rather easy schedule, and things are going to get a lot tougher as the season winds down, with upcoming matchups with Clemson and Florida still to go.

This coming weekend though, we should see the Seminoles pick up a win, which would be much-needed after a bad 22-16 road loss to Georgia Tech last week. Lance Austin returned a blocked field goal for almost 80 yards for the game-winning score as time expired for the Yellow Jackets, condemning Florida State to a gut-wrenching loss. Everett Golson and the Seminoles offense was stuffed by Georgia Tech, with running back Dalvin Cook the only member of the team to score an offensive touchdown.

Overall, Florida State is averaging 31 points per game (53rd in the country) and surrendering just 16.1 points a game (11th in the nation), in spite of last week's setback. You'd have to figure the Seminoles are in a favorable position to move to 7-1 and right the ship from the last-second defeat to the Yellow Jackets.

Syracuse Orange
It's been a tale of two seasons for the Orange already. They opened with three consecutive wins, but have since lost four games in a row to drop to 3-4 for the year. They've had a very tough schedule during this recent stretch, as they lost to LSU, USF, Virginia and Pittsburgh, two of whom were ranked when they met up.

Last week, Syracuse couldn't make enough plays in a 23-20 home loss to the Panthers. In a game in which the passing game just wasn't getting it done, the Orange were let down by some costly mistakes by QB Eric Dungey, who threw two picks. Jordan Fredericks led the team with 93 rushing yards, while Steve Ishmael had a game-high 114 receiving yards (on seven catches) and a touchdown.

Clearly, Syracuse is in serious danger of dropping a fifth straight game. Playing Florida State is never an easy proposition, especially when you're out on the road, so the Orange are really going to have to be dialed in if they want to stay competitive in this one.

Betting Analysis
It's true we've seen Syracuse come up short time and time again this season, and we can't disagree with the huge spread that oddmakers have put out there on the board.

A lot of people are going to be scared off of the idea of taking on such a large number, especially after such a bad win last week for Florida State. But, we know how talented these Seminoles are, on both sides of the ball, and they're most likely going to recover some pride with a bounce-back win at home this weekend.

At this point, we don't see it being very far-fetched that the Seminoles will win by at least a few touchdowns, they're the clearly superior team. Look for them to prove that true on Saturday and back them with your college football picks.
