Marshall @ Virginia Tech 12:00 PM ET
Line: Virginia Tech -8.0
The Marshall Thundering Herd will look to atone for last week’s 34-31 upset road loss to Ohio as a 7.5-pont favorite. It was a tough pill to swallow as the Thundering Herd were their own worst enemy by turning the ball over 4 times in the contest while failing to create any giveaways from the Bobcats. This line opened with Marshall has an 11.5-point underdog and currently has fell to as low as 7.0 at one sportsbook. My college football betting odds service has shown 58% of money wagered on this game has gone the way of Virginia Tech. This is what I deem to be a huge reverse line movement and one that indicates to me that the sharper money has gone on the underdog.
I’m vehemently sticking to my opinion that Virginia Tech is an overvalued and underrated team at this early juncture of the season. I faded the Hokies a week ago as a 7.0-point favorite at East Carolina and subsequently they failed to cover as predicted in a narrow 15-10 win. They will have their hands full this week versus a dynamic Marshall offense led by junior quarterback Rakeem Cato. In the first 3 games of the season Cato has thrown for 850 yards resulting in 7 touchdowns while running for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns as well. Marshall is statistically 20th in total offense and 13th in scoring nationally. I wouldn’t be shocked to see an outright upset but I won’t pass on the points as an additional bonus.

Missouri @ Indiana 8:00 PM ET
Line: Missouri -2.0
The Indiana Hoosiers come off an impressive 42-10 shellacking of Bowling Green last week and easily covering as a 3.0-point favorite. The win was impressive on a couple of fronts. First that was a solid Bowling Green team that they manhandled. Secondly they rebounded nicely from being embarrassed at home the week before in a 42-31 home loss to Navy as a 12.5-point NCAAF odds favorite. In a similar scenario to the Marshall/Virginia Tech game I’ve seen some reverse line movement in this contest. Missouri opened as a 5.5-point favorite and has currently dipped all the way down to 2.0. The movement occurred despite 63% of public money being wagered on the road favorite. It’s worth repeating that this is a sure tell sign that the sharper and larger bets made in this contest have gone to the home underdog. I emphatically concur with both of those parties on this one.
