Our NCAAF consultant provides us with an early betting preview on PAC-12 Clash between Stanford & Oregon State. Go inside to read this informative article that concludes with a point spread pick.

PAC-12 Friday Night Lights
Oregon State will host Stanford on Friday in a PAC-12 encounter. The opening kickoff at Reser Stadium in Corvallis, Oregon is slated for 10:00 PM ET. Stanford has gone 5-0 SU&ATS in the last five years against Oregon State, and won those contests by an average of 24.8 points per game. According to current (Monday 9/21) College Football Betting Odds, Stanford is a 15.5 point favorite.

Proverbial Sandwich Game for Cardinal
Stanford is coming off a huge 41-31 upset victory last Saturday over then #6 ranked USC. The Cardinal looked like a different team from the one who opened its season with a lackluster 16-6 loss at Northwestern. Case in point, they had only 240 yards of total offense in the loss to Northwestern, including a paltry 85 yards rushing. Then last week, they cranked out 474 yards of total offense, and that included 195 coming on the ground against a much heralded USC defense. Other than the victory itself, nearly as surprising was how they physically dominated USC at the point of attack. The Cardinals have played flawlessly on offense during their wins in the past two weeks versus Central Florida and USC. They amassed a combined 965 yards of total offense, and didn’t turn the ball over in either game.

Beavers Seeking Revenge and Upset
The Beavers last win over Stanford came on 10/10/2009 during a 38-28 victory in Corvallis. Gary Anderson left a highly successful Wisconsin football program following a stellar 11-3 season in his only year as head coach in Madison. When former Beavers head coach Mike Riley bolted for the Nebraska head coach opening, Anderson made a somewhat shocking decision to take the Oregon State job. The Beavers have started the season 2-1 with home wins over Weber State and San Jose State. Their only loss came at Michigan 35-7 in a game they were held to a mere 138 yards of total offense. Oregon State has gone a dismal 1-7 SU&ATS in their previous home games against PAC-12 opponents.

Final Analysis
Clearly Stanford is far and away the better team in this matchup. However, there are some intangibles that I already alluded to which they’ll need to overcome. With all things considered, there’s a wee bit of value in this particular spot favoring the home underdog. One of my College Football Picks this week will be indicative of that sentiment.
