Here is the Week 6 college football betting preview of the Minnestota Golden Gophers and Michigan Wolverines. Which team has the best chance of beating those NCAAF betting lines?

CFB Preview

The Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Michigan Wolverines collide on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 PM ET in Ann Arbor. According to current college football betting odds Michigan is a 19.0-point favorite and the total is 50.0. This line opened at 20.5 and 56% of the early money wagered was placed on the road underdog. The Wolverines enter this contest 4-0 while being ranked 19th in the AP Poll and 17th by USA Today. Minnesota comes in at 4-1 on the year.

It’s Been Nerve Racking in Ann Arbor

After an impressive start to the season the Wolverines faithful has been put through some anxious moments in the last couple of games versus vastly inferior competition. Three weeks ago as a 35.5-point home favorite they needed a touchdown with 2:49 to go, and then a late goal line stand to hold off Akron 28-24. Then in their last game two weeks ago at Connecticut they overcame a 21-7 second half deficit to defeat the Huskies as an 18.5-point favorite at most sportsbooks. By the way, Connecticut and Akron are a combined 1-8 this season. Needless to say the Wolverines coaching staff welcomed being off last week so they can exhale and regroup. The first order of business most likely to be addressed is ball security. In the last 2-games alone the Wolverines turned the ball over 8-times, and have now committed 13 turnovers in the first 4-games of the season. Michigan is currently at a -6 turnover differential. Through it all the defense has played very well. They have been excellent versus the run in addition to be resilient after being put in several tough spots due to the several miscues by their offensive teammates.

Let's have a look at the Week 6 College Football Odds Report~

Same Old Same Old

Minnesota fans are beginning to wonder if they will ever be able to get over the hump. For the 2nd year in a row the Golden Gophers shot out to a 4-0 start only to fall in their Big Ten opener the following week. Last season’s club ended up losing 7 of their last 9 games to finish at 6-7. Minnesota fans are hoping they won’t be witnessing déjà vu all over again this season. The Gophers were dominated at home last week by Iowa in a 23-7 loss. The final score wasn’t indicative how lopsided this contest really was. Iowa outgained Minnesota 464-165. The Hawkeyes held the ball for over 12-minutes more and were more physical on both sides of the ball. Minnesota is a dismal 2-13 in their last 15 conference road games. That’s not good news for Gophers fans considering that Michigan has won 7 conference home games in a row, and they’re a perfect 4-0 SU&ATS in the last 4 as a conference home favorite of 10.0 or more winning by an average of 37.0 points per game.

Final Analysis

The Minnesota defense has created just 7 turnovers in the first 5-games of the season. Be that as it may, it will be highly unlikely they will be able to take advantage of the Michigan error prone offense. In addition Iowa handed the Wolverines a blueprint on how to attack the Gophers defense. The Hawkeyes pounded the ball all day while churning out 246-yards rushing, consequently opening up many opportunities for the passing game to exploit. Michigan not only received one wakeup call, but two ... with still 8-games left in the regular season. They were extremely fortunate to survive both. I look for Michigan to more resemble the team that crushed Central Michigan for our  in the season opener college football picks, and then followed that up with a stellar 41-30 win over Notre Dame.

Free Pick: Michigan -19.0 over Minnesota.
