The Michigan State Spartans have already wrapped up the Legends Division, but they still have plenty to play for in hosting the Minnesota Golden Gophers Saturday. Have the bookies left any value on the board for us looking to add this game to our College Football picks this week?

Let’s take a closer look at the college football odds for this Big Ten Conference matchup at Spartan Stadium, with the opening kickoff scheduled for Noon ET in East Lansing.

Take a look at our SBR's College Football Picks for Week 14 Betting Odds Report

A tough loss

Minnesota suffered a hard fought 20-7 defeat to the Wisconsin Badgers as 15.5-point home underdogs last week, which snapped the program’s four-game winning streak.

The Golden Gophers tied a season low in points in that affair—managing to gain just 185 total yards against one of the best teams in the country.

It’s important to point out that the program has scored 314 points so far during the 2013 campaign, which is the most since 2007 in Minneapolis.

Peeking ahead to the Buckeyes?

Michigan State has already clinched the Big Ten Legends Division and has sealed a trip to play in the Big Ten Championship against the Ohio State Buckeyes in Indianapolis Dec. 7.

Eighteen seniors will make their final appearance at this venue, with the class being the winningest in the 117-year history of the program.

The Spartans may enter this affair with plenty of motivation in trying to finish their home schedule undefeated for the 19th time since this venue opened in 1923.

Ground attack

College football handicappers may have an interest in backing the Golden Gophers as a road underdog due to their ground attack ranking 27th nationally, but the Spartans have led the country in total defense in 11 consecutive weeks.

Minnesota’s underclassmen have contributed 2,731 yards of total offense this season, while juniors and seniors have accounted for 1,152.

The Spartans are known for playing their best football in November under head coach Mark Dantonio, which is clearly demonstrated in their 17-5 SU record in that situation.

Michigan State has won and covered the number in all three of its games this month, while going UNDER the betting total in two of those affairs.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Spartans with their College Football picks, as the Golden Gophers scored 14 combined points in their two games this season when getting out-gained on the ground.
