Saturday’s college football card has the Atlantic Coast Conference rivals meeting in Tallahassee, with FSU listed as hefty ‘chalk.’ Let's go over the betting odds for our NCAAF Picks.

The Florida State Seminoles and Maryland Terrapins have both started unbeaten, while uniting to cash at college football betting windows with a 7-1 ATS mark.

Seminoles surge past Eagles

Florida State’s latest triumph came in last Saturday’s 48-34 victory over the Boston College Eagles, falling short of collecting as a 23 ½-point road favorite. The Seminoles roared back from an early 17-3 deficit, with quarterback Jameis Winston tossing four touchdowns.

Winston finished with 330 yards through the air, connecting 17-of-27 passes. Seminoles wide outs Rashad Greene and Kenny Shaw caught four strikes each, combining for 183 receiving yards.

Florida State’s defense held the Eagles’ offense to 3-for-13 in third-down conversions, with mates Nate Andrews and P.J. Williams snagging one interception each. Winston added a team-high 67 rushing yards on 14 keepers, while the duel’s 82 points soared OVER the college football odds ‘total’ of 53 ½.

Terps shut down WVU

Maryland has been idle since Sept. 21, notching a 37-0 win as a 3 ½-point home favorite against the West Virginia Mountaineers. The Terrapins allowed just 175 total yards, while controlling the ball for 38 minutes of possession.

Terrapins mates Brandon Ross and C.J. Brown took in one score each, uniting for 93 rushing yards on a combined 34 carries. Brown added 210 passing yards under center, completing 17-of-26 passes.

The lopsided affair dipped below the ‘total’ of 54, moving the UNDER to 2-1 in Maryland’s last three games. Terrapins placekicker Brad Craddock hit 3-of-3 field goals, including a season-long strike from 50 yards out.

Back the Seminoles as home ‘chalk’

Florida State opened as a 16-point home favorite at The Greek, while dropping to 15 after early NCAAF betting on Maryland. Saturday’s weather forecast at Doak Campbell Stadium calls for a 40-percent chance of thunderstorms, with a temperature of 80 degrees.

I am adding Florida State to the week’s sports picks, looking for the Seminoles to pull away in a sizable win.

Florida State has given up just 6.5 PPG in its first two home dates, with both cashed tickets moving Jimbo Fisher’s squad to 5-2 ATS in its last seven matchups at “Doak.”  Jameis Winston has guided his offense to an ACC-high of 532.8 YPG, while the Seminoles have piled in a stellar 51.3 PPG

Maryland has had an impressive start, but could lose its steam here with a 2-5 spread record in its last seven contests during the month of October. The Terrapins have dropped their last six matchups against FSU, with the Seminoles cashing at 4-2 ATS.

Florida State pulled out to a 27-0 halftime lead in last year’s 41-14 victory over Maryland, with running back Devonta Freeman carving up the Terrapins for 148 rushing yards (9.2 YPR) and two touchdowns. Look for Freeman’s octane to rise up again in this spot after a quiet day last week, while Winston torches Maryland for some style points down the stretch.
