SEC battle of unbeatens with just about everything on the line as the #6 LSU Tigers host the #8 Florida Gators. See who we like as our college football pick as these two powerhouses clash.

Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 17th at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. According to 5Dimes, the Tigers are a full touchdown favorite and the total for the game is listed at 45.5. Although, Florida isn't one of the teams that I think as elite, 7 points is a lot as the Gators have proven to sweep aside anything in their way. Let's take a look at this game in-depth.

Is Florida Really 6-0?
We've found out that Florida quarterback and leader of this Gators team, Will Grier, has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar as he's been suspended for the rest of the season for using PED's.

While I'm sure a lot of players do use them and don't get caught, we could say that being such a key figure on a team, that the drug enhancements were the reason why Grier was so successful and why Florida is 6-0. This couldn't happen at a worse time for Florida and I don't see how we could possibly back this team after such a turn of events.

An Opportunity of a Lifetime
If you're sophomore backup quarterback, Treon Harris, you can't help but be happy at what happened because he's only in his 2nd year and this is his chance to basically steal Grier's job on a 6-0 club. The ball is in Harris' court.

In limited play this season, he's proven that he can do the job. For the season, Harris 19 of 27 for 269 yards and 2 TD. I look for Harris to play well in this game even though there is no pressure about the job being his. The pressure is to keep the Gators undefeated as they enter enemy territory against an LSU club that averages 37.8 points and 468.4 yards per game. The pressure is also on the Florida defense, which has only allowed 14.3 points per game. LSU has a dominant rushing attack and if the Florida defense can contain that, this game will be close.

Harris has a handful of targets to focus on, led by leading receiver, Demarcus Robinson. Robinson looks for the screen plays and has recorded 330 yards and 2 TD's this season. Expect for running back Kelvin Taylor to carry the brunt of the load on his shoulders. Without Will Grier, he is basically the entire rushing attack for Florida and LSU will need to deal with him.

Heisman Hopeful
There is no surprise here as running back, Leonard Fournette (1022 yards, 12 TD), who is the early frontrunner for the Heisman Trophy will test the Florida defense and his effectiveness will decide the outcome of this game.

LSU is a team that averages almost 400 yards rushing per game, they have a quarterback in Brandon Harris, who knows his roll, and is mistake-free thus far. I think this is the perfect time for Fournette to attack the Gators defense. He's at home and Florida's season has been turned upside down with the loss of Grier. Against the college football odds, we back LSU as our college football pick.
