Midweek Snack in the MAC II: C. Michigan visits Kent State as favorite, and we look forward to seeing them play. Take a look inside for a breakdown of the college football odds and free picks for you.

C. Michigan (-11) vs. Kent St. 8:00 ET ESPNU
The C. Michigan Chips travel to Kent, Ohio to face the Golden Flashes in this 8:00 pm ET game as televised on ESPNU. It is never easy to fade one of our AFP plays which went 8-3 ATS again last week. In this game, Kent has a (-127) net AFP advantage, resulting in this double digit line for C. Michigan in a contest that would have been closer to pick'em in the opening week of the season. Yet, this line is more than warranted as it is a classic example of Super-Surger vs. Towel-Tosser! These west vs. east divisional MAC teams have not met in the last 3 seasons. This year, they are clearly headed opposite directions.

Kent St. enters at 3-7 SU, losers of 3 straight, after the (27-0) whitewash they suffered at the hands of Ohio U last week. That defeat was emblematic of the offensive season for the Golden Flashes, who have not shone brightly. Their 14 PPG offense is last in the league and averages just 287/4.2. It is hard to stay competitive, especially when your defense has allowed 424 YPG in the last 6 outings. With their 7th loss of the year last week, Kent realizes they will be home for the holidays for the 3rd consecutive season. The 3-year tenure of HC Haynes may be waning, as his Flashes are 9-26 SU during his guidance. Should Kent trail early in this one, they may indeed toss the towel with the realization that their division-rivalry game with nearby Akron will serve as their season-ending Bowl game next week.

The Game
At 5-5 SU, C. Michigan will be fully motivated to obtain their Bowl eligibility. Despite last week’s loss to Toledo (28-23), the Chips emerge with plenty of good feelings about themselves as they stormed back twice in the narrow loss. This team has been very resilient following a defeat in recent seasons, standing 11-3 ATS following a defeat, including 3-1 ATS this year.  They are led by HC Bonamego, a C. Michigan alumni and long-time NFL Special Teams Asst. Since taking the job, Bonamego has used his battle against a potentially life-threatening disease to motivate his team. The Chips get it done through the airways, behind QB Rush and a deep WR corps that is averaging 302/7.7 YPG. Look for them to have success early and often against a fading Kent defense.

I invite you to put the college football odds in your favor and join me in our college football pick on C. Michigan as our Midweek Snack in the MAC II.
