Kansas State has betting value as a small underdog against UCLA in the Valero Alamo Bowl because they play football the right way under legendary head coach Bill Snyder.

Quality Losses
Kansas State is focused on winning 10 games for the third time in four years, which is important to consider when making your College Football pick, as all three of its losses came against quality opponents.

The Wildcats are 9-3 SU and 8-4 ATS through 12 contests, with their setbacks coming against the likes of Auburn, Baylor and TCU—three teams listed in the top 20 of the final college football playoff rankings.

Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 5-2 SU and 6-1 ATS when playing with two weeks or more of rest.

UCLA was considered a legitimate national title contender heading into the 2014-15 campaign, which can’t be ignored when looking over the college football betting lines, as it looks to move past the disappointment of not reaching the Pac-12 Conference championship game due to a 31-10 loss to Stanford to end the regular season.

The Bruins are expected to welcome back 18 starters to Westwood next season, but third-year head coach Jim Mora would like to stay in the present despite the fact that he’ll likely lose star quarterback Brett Hundley to the 2015 NFL Draft.

It’s important to point out that the squad is 4-5 SUATS when the betting line is +3 to -3 in its last nine opportunities, with the OVER going 5-4 in that situation.

The Wildcat offense in 2014 has turned into one of the most prolific in school history—averaging 35.8 points and 426 yards per game.

Dual-threat quarterback Jake Waters sits just 190 yards away from Josh Freeman’s single-season passing record, while he also enters with 471 rushing yards.

Sports bettors will want to keep an eye on wide receiver Tyler Lockett, who has been Waters’ top target by catching 93 passes for 1,351 yards and nine touchdowns.  The senior is also one of the best special-team players in the country.

Talented Group
The Bruins are capable of shutting down any offense in the country, as Mora’s stop unit is led by Butkus Award winner Eric Kendricks, who recently broke the school’s all-time tackle record.

Myles Jack compliments Kendricks on that side of the ball, as the two-way threat registered 80 tackles and seven pass breakups this season.

I’m going to recommend that readers back the Wildcats as one of their NCAAF picks, as they’ve gone 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games versus teams with a winning record.

Kansas State’s formula of not being penalized and taking care of the football will be the difference against an unmotivated opponent.
