SBR consultant Ross Benjamin has gone an impressive 16-9 (64%) with his college football picks over the past 3 weeks. Today he shares with you his top betting angles, and how to make them work for you.

Game: UL-Monroe vs New MexicoDate: Saturday 9:00 PM ET

The UL-Monroe Warhawks and New Mexico Lobos will meet on Saturday night in a non-conference game at University Stadium in Albuquerque. This game contains an applicable college football betting angle which has been very kind to me for over 2 decades.

New Mexico is coming off a 45-40 upset win as a 14.0-point underdog at Air Force this past Saturday. At the time of this writing (10/17), college football betting odds show New Mexico as anywhere from a 13.0 to 17.0-point favorite. Let’s take a look at how we can take those results, and apply it to my aforementioned highly profitable betting angle.

Since 1994, any home favorite of 10.0 or more, coming off an away straight up win as an underdog of 10.0 or more, resulted in those home favorites going 60-30 ATS (66.7%).

This exact scenario has taken place 3 times already this season, and the home favorite of 10.0 or more has covered on each of those occasions.

  • Arkansas defeated TCU 41-38 on 9/10 as a 10.0-point road underdog. The following week (9/17), they shellacked Texas State 49-3, and easily covered as a 29.0-point home favorite.
  • Central Michigan knocked off then nationally-ranked Oklahoma State 30-27 on 9/10. In the Chippewas next game, they closed as a 12.0-point home favorite against UNLV, and went on to win 44-21.
  • Colorado covered as a 19.5-point home favorite during a 47-6 blowout of Oregon State on 10/1. The Buffaloes won 41-38 as a 14.0-point underdog in their prior game at Oregon.

As a matter of fact, since 10/10/15, this precise betting angle has gone a perfect 7-0 ATS. Needless to say, I think you can now understand why this has become one of my favorite betting scenarios to use when making my college football picks.

Game: Memphis vs #24 NavyDate: Saturday 3:30 PM ET

Here’s where we can apply a strong team trend when making our college football predictions. In the you-may-be-surprised-to-know department. Navy enters this week having won 13 straight home games. Furthermore, current college football odds at Bookmaker show the Midshipmen as 3.5-point home underdogs in Saturday’s upcoming game against Memphis. It’s a simple case of betting value. We have a team with a strong home field, and installed as an underdog. Where do I sign up for that?

Here’s something else to consider. Navy’s scheduled game at East Carolina last week was canceled due to Hurricane Mathew. As a result, the Middies will enter Saturday’s game coming off what amounts to be a bye week. Navy is a perfect 4-0 in their previous 4 regular season home games when coming off a week of rest. They won those contests by an average of 21.3 points per game.
