Saturday, the Cougars must face a Rutgers team who won 63-13 last week, but faced their own adversity. Who will come out on top? As we guide you on the best betting value on this game.

Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 11th in Piscataway, New Jersey. According to 5 Dimes Sportsbook, the Scarlet Knights are a 3.5 point betting favorite and the total for the game is 62.5 points on the college football odds. Although there could be precipitation, I don't expect Washington State's offense to be hampered by the rainstorm that they endured last week.

Facing 0-2
Washington State are facing the prospects of starting off the season at 0-2 if they don't show up on Saturday with a top notch effort. Regardless of the rains, they couldn't beat an FCS team such as Portland State and this was their first loss to a FCS team in 20 games. WSU kept the lead through the 1st half, but Portland State came "storming" back with 24 points in the 2nd half, capped by a 1 yard touchdown run by Steven Long with 2 minutes remaining in the game and that was all that she wrote for the Cougars.

WSU is a team without Vince Mayle, but is still very deep at the wide receiver position as 11 different players had a reception in week 1 . Dom Williams led the way with 5 receptions for 86 yards and Gabe Marks had 6 catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. Expect River Cracraft to be a factor against Rutgers as he had a subpar effort in week 1.

The Cougars also have a very capable quarterback in Luke Falk. Falk was a backup to Connor Holliday last season and played very well. He even managed to avoid any mistakes in the downpour last week as he threw for almost 300 yards and 2 TD. I expect a big effort from the WSU passing game as this is their bread and butter.

Suspensions and Quarterback Issues
You would think that Rutgers University would be thrilled with a 63-13 victory even over a team such as Norfolk State. However 5 players were "eliminiated" from the squad due to violations and other players were suspended for the 1st half of the Norfolk State game. This is a wise decision as Norfolk State was a clear underdog and ripe for the picking.

One of the players suspended from 1st half action, wide reeciver, Leonte Carroo came out like a ball of fire in the 2nd half as he caught 3 passes for 129 yards and 3 TD's.

Carroo is a 1000 yard receiver and look for him to be a major factor this week. Even more ironic, quarterback Hayden Rettig went 9 for 11 for 110 yards and 1 touchdown and was lifted for sophomore quarterback Chris Laviano in the 2nd half. Laviano then proceeds to go 4 for 4 for 138 yards and 3 TD (all to Carroo) and busted this game wide open.

Now, Rutgers is left with a quarterback controversy. I'm expecting Rettig to start, but don't count out an appearance from Laviano. Rutgers will also be facing a team that's very hungry for a win after totally being embarrassed last week. This game should be close and expect a high scoring affair, so grab the over with your college football picks. Also, it's September 11th; Let us "Never Forget" the brave souls on that day 14 years ago.
