Rutgers is coming off of a 28-3 loss to Penn State and without star wideout, Leonte Carroo, this game could be closer than expected. See who we like in this game as our college football pick.

Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Septemeber 26th in Piscataway, New Jersey. The Scarlet Knights are a 12.5 point betting favorite  and the total for the game is listed at 65 on the college football odds board. The question is will Rutgers be able to put up big numbers after coming off of a loss in which they managed just a field goal and will they be able to overcome all of the chaos that's been going on in this program?

Ripe For the Picking?
Kansas might have allowed nearly 100 points in their last 2 games, but they're facing a team who has had trouble all season off the field and it's transended to on the field.

Rutgers has had a numerous amount of players kicked off of the team, had players play half of a game due to half game suspension, have had full game suspensions and will be without star wideout Leonte Carroo.

It doesn't look like we'll be seeing Carroo for a while as he's accused of assaulting an ex-girlfriend and his mother and girlfriend are also in the mix as they were arrested. Rutgers also has a tremendous amount of injured players. Who will quarterback, Chris Laviano throw the ball to?

Offensive Options
If many of you remember, it was Laviano that was a second-stringer and due to a coaching decision, got to come into a game a couple of weeks ago and hooked up with Carroo on 3 bombs for touchdowns.

Now, Laviano who is throwing at a 72% completion rate for 593 yards, 4 TD and 3 INT will need to look elsewhere.Aside from Carroo, no other Scarlet Knight has 100 yards receiving and only 2 other touchdown passes have been thrown. Guys such as Janarion Grant and Andre Patton will get to see more targets than they've ever dreamed of.

That said, look for this game to be slowed down as Laviano will look for running back, Josh Hicks, to grind out some yardage speed up the clock as Hicks is a proven commodity. So far this season, Hicks leads the Scarlet Knights in rushing with 258 yards on 6.3 yards per carry and 2 touchdowns.

The bottom line is that I don't see a ton of points being scored in this game that can reach the 65 point total.I can see the Under as my college football pick

KU and the Ground Game
The only way for Kansas to steal this game away from Rutgers is on the ground. Starting quarterback, Montell Cozart has only thrown for 1 touchdown thus far this season and Kansas doesn't have a receiver over 100 yards. Cozart is a double threat as he can pass and run with the football and most of the workload will be on the shoulders of junior back, Ke'aun Kinner. Kinner is coming off of two consecutive 100 yard games and and has scored in both games. We should see a ton of running in this game and I can see Kansas giving Rutgers a run for their money.
