At this point, Clemson, needs to get through this week's game against Wake Forest and stay healthy. Get our take on this lopsided matchup as we provide our college football picks.

With just 2 games remaining in the regular season, #1 Clemson is destined to go a perfect 12-0 as they have an ACC matchup this week with Wake Forest (3-7, 1-5) and a matchup with a very weak South Carolina team on the road next week.

Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday, November 21st at 3:30 p.m. EST at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina. Normally, the #1 team in the land gets priority in a televised game, but they're playing a rather weak opponent, therefore this game will be televised on ESPN 2. According to 5Dimes, Clemson is a 29 point betting favorite and the total for the game is listed at 48 points on the college football odds board.

Smooth Sailing
For the season, the Tigers have one of the better offenses in the nation averaging 38.5 points per game and amassing nearly 500 yards in total offense while allowing just 18.1 points per game.

When you can serve the Miami Hurricanes their worst loss in the program's history that's saying something and this is a team that beat "The U" 58-0 on October 24th.The Tigers also possess victories over top 25 teams such as Notre Dame and Florida State on their resume. They're striving for a BCS Championship and I don't expect the Tigers to take the Demon Deacons lightly despite their record.

Deshaun Watson
The Tigers are a well-balanced team offensively, but the offense starts and stops with sophomore quarterback, Deshaun Watson. Watson is a double threat that can air it out and run with the football.

This is a quarterback that's run for 100 yards or more in his last 2 games while nearly passing for 300 yards or more (297 yards passing vs. Florida State). For the season, Watson has thrown for 2593 yards with 23 TD and 8 INT and has rushed for 598 yards and 5 TD.

Look for Watson to have another big game and the numbers might not be indicative of how effective he is if he get's taken out of the game early if this game, as expected, should be in hand by the end of the 3rd quarter.

Speaking of not playing it safe, we could see that here with 1000 yard runner, Wayne Gallman. Gallman, who has been ever so reliable and consistent all season long with 1043 yards rushing and 9 TD's, injured his ankle in the victory over Syracuse. He's listed as probable and I expect him to play, but Clemson isn't going to take any chances with Gallman as long as this game is in hand. Gallman has a touchdown in each of his last 4 games.

Resting Starters?
My only concern with the 29 point spread is if Clemson looks to keep their players "safe" and are looking forward, they're not going to care about the final score as they're the #1 team in the nation and as long as they don't win by 10 points or less, they should be safe. That said, it's something to take into account when making a bet in this game.

"Wake" Up
Wake Forest is a team that's going to put the fans to sleep as they're not a big-time scoring team. They've lost their last 4 games and in the process, scored an average of 14.3 points per game. They have face some top level teams such as Notre Dame and held the Irish to 28 points, but the bottom line is that they don't have the offense to deal with the elite teams.

Inept Offense
What can you say when the entire Wake Forest team has nearly the same amount of yardage running the football as Clemson starting running back, Wayne Gallman. Not only that, Clemson averages 3.1 yards per carry. We look at their passing game and it isn't much better as sophomore quarterback John Wolford leads this supposed powerhouse with 1362 yards with 7 TD and 9 INT's. There's nothing much to cheer for with this team offensively as their running game is so bad that the opposing defenses are ready for whatever comes there way.

This game should be low scoring and Clemson could sit their starters, but I think that Clemson wants to make a statement with the pollsters and that's why they're going to cover the 29 points with our college football picks.
