College Football picks are in and we look for 13th ranked UCLA to walk away with the win against Virginia on September 5th at the Rose Bowl.

The time is finally here & college football is back! In this week 1 betting matchup we got Virginia vs UCLA #13 with UCLA a 17 point favorite in the College football odds market. Look for UCLA to not only use home field to their advantage but also the California heat. Virginia has not won a bowl game since 2005 and has not climbed to the top of their conference since 1995. The Cavaliers will be starting their fourth QB Matt Johns in as many seasons, thats never a good sign. Virginia also has had a tough time running the ball over the past few seasons and that won’t get much better going against the Myles Jack lead Bruins defense.

It’s looking like Jim Mora is on track for a breakout year as the head coach of UCLA. Jim has lockers full of returning talent which in NCAA football is a recipe for success. The Bruins will be starting freshman phenom QB Josh Rosen. Josh will get plenty of help from RB Paul Perkins last years Pac-12 leading rusher. I would expect to see a very heavy dose of Perkins to help protect the QB and speaking of protection UCLA’s offensive line has over 130 games started between them. The combo of UCLA’s raw talent, head coach, playing at home and the weather forecasted mid to low 80’s will not end well for Virginia. The best value college football pick of in this one would be for Virginia to lose but cover, with a final of UCLA 35 Virginia 28.
