We’re going to examine Friday’s game between Cincinnati and South Florida. Do you want to know what our college football pick in this game is and why? Just go inside to read all the details.

Friday Night Lights in the AAC
South Florida hosts Cincinnati on Friday in an AAC matchup. The opening kickoff at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa is slated for 8:00 PM ET. The game will be aired by the CBS Sports Channel. Current college football odds at SportsBetting shows Cincinnati as a 2.5 point road favorite, and a posted total of 63.5. Cincinnati defeated South Florida a season ago by a score of 34-17, and they covered as a 10.0 point home favorite.

Bearcats are Must See Television
If you don’t say anything else about the 2015 Cincinnati Bearcats, it must be stated they’re a highly entertaining team to watch. Cincinnati is averaging 38.6 points and 585.6 yards of total offense per game. Despite those impressive numbers, they enter this week with just a 6-4 record. Their flaws are quite apparent, ball security, and shoddy defensive play. The Bearcats have allowed 33 points or more on six separate occasions this season. They also possess a horrible -12 turnover differential in 2015. Yet, somehow they’ve still managed to go under the total in five of their previous six games.

Surging Bulls
South Florida enters this week as a red-hot team. They’ve gone 5-1 SU&ATS in their last six games. The Bulls only loss in that sequence came at 16th ranked Navy (8-1) by a score of 29-17, and they failed to cover as a 6.0 point underdog. As a matter of fact, four of their five wins during this recent surge have come as an underdog. Needless to say, being a home underdog on Friday won’t be anything that they’ve not been accustomed to. The Bulls are coming off a huge win over Temple last week at home. That victory closed them to within 1.0 game of the Owls for the AAC East Division lead, and they also hold an all important head to head tiebreaker. The Bulls need to win their final two games, and hope either Memphis or Connecticut can knock off Temple. They also can split their final two games, and hope that Temple loses their remaining two. Whatever results transpire, head coach Willie Taggart can be proud of his team for how they fought back from a rough start.

Final Thoughts and Pick
I have to be honest. South Florida has been awfully good to me during the last two weeks against East Carolina and Temple. They’re entering this game with a lot of momentum and plenty of confidence. Cincinnati is an explosive offensive team, but they’ve shot themselves in the foot much too often this season. Between their turnover issues and a porous defense, the Bearcats are a team to be faded in this spot. I’m leaning on the small home underdog for one of my college football picks this week.
