Highly rated LSU tigers come to town to face the hometown MSU Bulldogs and our college football betting expert Troy West shares his predictions & free pick for this matchup inside.

LSU vs. Mississippi State
It will be rocking in Starkville MS, come Saturday night when the highly rated LSU tigers come to town to face the hometown MSU Bulldogs. 5Dimes via SBR's college football odds saw this line open at 2.5 and rise to its current form at 4.5 with LSU getting the nod as the Chalk.  The total is somewhat low for a college game at 49.5.  This is maybe a slugfest til the final minute of play.

Accoring to former NFL CB Jabari Green, an sec Network analyst the key to this matchup for the Bulldogs/Tigers matchup will be LSU WRS vs. The Bulldogs DBs. It is also the matchup that excites Mr. Green the most. The key names in the Tigers recieving core are Dural Dupree, Trey Quinn, and John Diarse. They are willing to take short routes and try to expand them to larger gains. You call these underneath and moderate routes. Unforunately we don't know how LSU has looked this year, because this is there first game. They have previously dominated the cow bell, even in Stark-Vegas. We can put pretty good stock into the fact LSU is coached by Les Miles. He normally has the Tigers ready for the season openers. Expect nothing less come Saturday Night in the heat of the battle with the obnoxious Cowbell in Starkville.

MSU pulled off a 34-16 win at lowly Southern Miss in Hattiesburg MS last Saturday night. This is a Smiss program that has hit rock bottom and coming off a terrible season. Most are reporting the Bulldogs were not at its sharpest during there first game. According to one lone in Hattiesburg, the Eagles did Msu coach Dan Mullen a huge favor by allowing them to play on the road last Saturday night.

While LSU was waiting out the rain and lightining that would never end, the Bulldogs had to play a football game. And not just one of those non-conference rollovers we saw so much across the country on Saturday. No the Golden Eagles gave MSU a real fight. The Tigers played 5 minutes of football against McNeese State before the game got cancelled. The bulldogs had to play the whole 60 to get out of MM Roberts Stadium(smiss home field) with a 34-16 win. So which do you think is better prepared in this matchup featuring a pivotal Sec West Conf game on the line?  Smiss tried 2 onside kicks.  It threw a double pass. The Smiss QB was 30 of 44 for 311 yards. The USM D had 5 TFL and forced 4 punts. One last quote from Dan Mullen before predicting the outcome.  "They threw everything at us, and they played well(referring to Smiss),"

LSU has to be chumping at the bit to get some real time action in. LSU has always been better than MSU and we see nothing changing for this college football pick even in a hostile road game for the Tigers. The annoying cowbell faithful will be banging there cowbell for absolutely no reason and a total false hope.

Predicted Final Score: LSU 31 Miss St. 24
