The Sun Devils are small home favorites for Thursday night's game against Oregon. We've got our preferred college football picks ready to go for this Pac-12 battle.

Odds Overview
Even though the Ducks managed to win a tough road game at Washington last week, oddsmakers aren't expecting a second win in a row. For Thursday's game, Oregon is classified as a 2 or 2.5-point underdog on the college football odds board, depending on which sportsbook you use.

We know both of these two offenses can put up points on their day, but we'll have to wait a little bit longer to see what kind of total is put out there. Keep checking back with SBRodds.com to be ready to pounce on a weak opening number, and so that you can get the best possible number you can.

Arizona State Sun Devils
The Sun Devils have already lost three times this season, falling to strong programs in Texas A&M (in the season opener), USC and then Utah this past week. They're at 4-3 on the season ahead of this Thursday's showdown with Oregon.

Looking at the overall numbers, we see just how middle of the road these Sun Devils have been, as they're right around 75th best in both scoring offense and defense. Quarterback Mike Bercovici has been solid at the helm of the offense, throwing for 1,846 yards to go with a 14:5 TD:INT ratio, Demario Richard has been the team's leading rusher, and D.J. Foster has transitioned nicely to his new role as a wide receiver. Foster has still been getting some carries too, however, as he's one of the most dangerous playmakers in the country. Devin Lucien and Tim White have also been contributing in the passing game.

Averaging 28.0 points per game and surrendering 27.3 a contest, Arizona State still has a lot of work to do. The Sun Devils get a great chance to get back on track this coming Thursday against a conference foe.

Oregon Ducks
There has been no semblance of consistency to Oregon's results this season, as the Ducks have alternated wins and losses over their first seven games. This past week they notched a 27-20 road win over Washington, beating the Huskies for the 12th straight time in the head-to-head history. It's safe to say the Ducks have had their number of the years.

It's, of course, very helpful for Oregon to have starting QB Vernon Adams Jr. back and healthy, as he's clearly the most talented quarterback within the program and gives the Ducks their best chance of winning. Oregon, despite the injury problems, has still managed to average 39 points per game (13th best in the nation), so they've still been a unit to fear. It's defensively where the Ducks have been a mess; they've given up 36 points per game, which is "good" for 110th in college football. That just won't cut it in a conference as good as the Pac-12.

We're eager to see what version of Oregon we'll see this week. The inconsistency, though, has been a worrying factor to consider when placing our final college football picks.

NCAA Football Pick
It was good to see the Ducks battle hard and earn that win over the Cougars last week, but we're not anticipating them making it two wins in a row here on Thursday.

The truth is, despite a somewhat sluggist start, this Arizona State team is very talented, and we think they'll end the season strongly after losing three tough games (Utah, USC, Texas A&M) already this season. We've seen the Sun Devils beat UCLA easily (38-23, on the road), so we know what they're capable of when playing well.

Back at home with the crowd behind them, we look for Arizona State to bounce back as our college football pick following last week's setback to the Utes.
