It's a great-looking slate of games out there this weekend, but this matchup between Alabama and Charleston Southern isn't going to be one of them... on paper. Still, we're here to break down the college football odds further.

Odds Overview
This is very likely going to turn into a rout, and it's going to happen quickly. When we check out the college football odds, we see that's what oddsmakers are thinking as well.

The only book to even have a line here right now is 5Dimes, who have the spread at a whopping 38.5 points. Can we really be surprised by that? Keep checking back to see if there is any considerable shift in the betting lines throughout the week.

Since losing by six to Ole Miss, the Crimson Tide have been letting out their frustrations on practically everyone that's stood in front of them. They've reeled off seven straight wins to move to 9-1 on the season, and they're currently on top of the SEC West with a 6-1 mark, clearly ahead of LSU

We can safely pencil in another Alabama win this weekend, which would move the winning streak to eight games. It looks like the Crimson Tide are zeroing in on the playoff, and we'd be foolish to think they aren't capable of making it there. They've been playing great football, with their seventh-ranked total defense (allowing just 15.3 points per game) playing the biggest role in the team's success.

Of course, the dominant running of Derrick Henry has helped the cause tremendously. Henry has piled up 240 carries for 1,458 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns, and along the way has quickly emerged as a Heisman contender. His most impactful performance came in Alabama's win over LSU, particularly since opposing star Leonard Fournette was held in check.

Charleston Southern Buccaneers
So, the Buccaneers have only lost one game this season (9-1), yet they aren't being given a chance at all of getting anything going versus Alabama.

A perfect 6-0 in the Conference South, Charleston Southern has been great thus far, but are they about to run into a buzzsaw? We know, at least, that the Buccaneers will feel like they have nothing to lose as huge underdogs, and that in and of itself can lead to some interesting outcomes. We haven't seen Georgia Southern play any teams of note, however, and we know their talent level is just nowhere near what the Crimson Tide bring to the table each year.

So while we can expect a spirited effort out of the Buccaneers, we can't see how they'll be able to stop Henry from running all over them. Then, on the other side of the ball, Alabama's stifling defense should hold their ground and continue to dominate. It's going to take a miracle of a showing, a lot of bounces, and maybe some luck too, if the Buccaneers are going to be able to hang around whatsoever in this matchup. It's a true David versus Goliath moment.

Betting Analysis
We're not about to fade the Crimson Tide with our college football picks at home against a much weaker opponent, regardless of how good Charleston Southern's record this season may look.

It's never easy when these humungous spreads are involved, but Alabama is a way better team in every facet, whether it be offense, defense, special teams or coaching, and the hosts should prove that with a blowout win this Saturday.

After surviving a gauntlet of a schedule and posting some impressive victories in the process, it's hard to go against the Crimson Tide at the moment. So, we'll pick them to win by a ton of touchdowns as they gear up for a regular season finale against arch-rival, Auburn. Assuming they don't look ahead and get lacksadaiscal, Alabama should simply overwhelm Charleston Southern.
