Our college football handicapper breaks down Friday’s game between Wyoming and Utah State. Go inside to read this revealing betting preview, which concludes with his college football pick.

Cowboys at Merlin Olsen Field
Utah State hosts Wyoming in a Friday night Mountain West Conference encounter. The opening kickoff at Romney Stadium in Ogden, Utah is slated for 10:15 PM ET, and it will be televised by ESPN2. At the time of this writing, college football odds showed Utah State as a 28-point favorite across the sportsbook landscape. These teams have met in each of the past two seasons, and Utah State won on both occasions, 35-7 at home in 2013, and 20-3 in Laramie, Wyoming a season ago.

Wyoming on an ATS Roll
They may be a terrible 1-7 this season, but the Wyoming Cowboys are 4-0 ATS in their previous four games. During that stretch, Wyoming captured their lone win of the year by upsetting Nevada 28-21 as a 6.5 point home underdog, and they also saw all four of those games go under the total. Offensive production has been a huge issue. Wyoming has scored 17 points or less in five of eight games, and their high watermark has been 29 points during a 19 point loss to Eastern Michigan. The Cowboys have seen all four of their road games go under the total, and they’ve averaged a dismal 14.5 points scored per contest.

What Aggies Team Will Show Up?
Talking about performing on both ends of the pendulum, that’s exactly how you can describe the previous two games for Utah State. Two weeks ago they were on top of the world after knocking off then #23 ranked Boise State 52-26 as a 7.5 point underdog. Then last Friday night, they were humbled in a 48-14 lopsided defeat at San Diego State in a game they were a 4-point favorite. The question then becomes, will the real Aggies team please stand up? On a different topic, Utah State has gone over the total in each of their last five games, and there was a combined average of 61.8 points scored per contest.

Final Analysis
Ordinarily I would give serious consideration to taking the four touchdown underdog in a game such as this one. However, I just think that Wyoming will be catching Utah State at the most inopportune time. The Aggies will be out to atone for last week’s humiliating loss and poor effort. I’ll have a small lean toward the home favorite for one of my college football picks.
