The Tennessee Volunteers (2-1) might be the slight favorites on the college football odds board in this SEC battle against the Florida Gators (3-0) in The Swamp.

Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, September 26th at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at Florida Field in Gainesville, Florida. While history is against the Vols, the oddsmakers aren't as the Volunteers are a 1.5 point betting favorite on the road at the time of this writing and the total for the game is listed at 48 according to 5Dimes. The college football odds don't say much for Florida. Who will win this huge SEC battle as things are wide open in the SEC with Alabama's loss.

Tennessee Rushing Game vs. Gators Defense
The rushing game is Tennessee's bread and butter and yet the Gators are ranked 7th in the nation in defense against the run. Tennessee is led by the backfield tandem of Jalen Hurd (300 yards, 5 TD) and Alvin Kamara (195 yards, 7.5 ypc, 3 TD). Hurd ran for over 100 yards in a 31-24 double overtime loss to Oklahoma and that's a great measuring stick to see who the Vols can count on as Florida is another top-rated opponent,

Look for Hurd to take the lead role in this game as junior quarterback, Joshua Dobbs, picks his spots, revolving around the run. Thus far this season, Dobbs has been very efficient, throwing 5 TD's and just 1 INT.

He's not a quarterback that will turn the football over, but he's also thrown for under 200 yards in each of his first 3 games. In order for Tennessee to be successful, Dobbs will need to be more proactive throwing the football if the running game is unsuccessful against a great rushing defense.

This is not a great matchup for Tennessee, but they did give Oklahoma a major run for their money in week 2, therefore, this is a proven, formidable team. Might we see this game go down to the wire?

Keeping the Streak and Undefeated Record Going
This will be the objective for the Gators as they come into this game with 2 consecutive unimpressive wins. In week 2, the Gators came away with a 31-24 victory over East Carolina University and last week, Florida squeezed out a 14-9 victory at Kentucky. You can see why this is an un-rated underdog in this game.

In their last game, Florida wasn't very productive offensively as quarterback, Will Grier threw for just 125 yards and 1 INT, but Grier did manage a touchdown rushing along with 61 yards on the ground. However, the Florida defense kept UK quarterback Patrick Towles in check, holding him to just 8 for 24 passing for 126 yards and 2 INT. Florida's defense will need a near repeat performance against Tennessee as the Vols aren't prone to creating turnovers. It's all a matter of stopping Tennessee's rushing game and that appears to be a difficult task as Florida is also stepping up in the level of difficulty where their opponent is concerned.

I'm somewhat superstitious and Florida has a 10-game winning streak against Tennessee, but the Volunteers were a betting favorite for a reason and oddsmakers know where to pace the number. Look for the Volunteers to break the streak with your college football picks as both of these teams will end up with 1 loss at the completion of this close-knit affair.
