The Troy Trojans and the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns will not play in a bowl game this season. But for Saturday's game let browse the college football odds first.

Momentum
Troy has muddled through a very disappointing season in the aftermath of the end of the tenure of the program’s most successful coach, Larry Blakeney. New coach Neal Brown has struggled in his first season as the school’s head coach. That’s not surprising, but it doesn’t take away any of the disappointment the program feels, either. Troy has won only two games against other teams in Division I. It won a game against a lower-division opponent as well, creating a 3-8 record with just one game left to play. The Trojans are coming off a 31-21 loss to a Georgia State team which wasn’t very good this season. It’s just another part of a season in which the Trojans have not been able to generate much of any consistency. They crushed Louisiana-Monroe a few weeks ago, but Louisiana-Monroe has proved to be a horrible team, so that win was more the product of ULM’s problems than anything good Troy did. This is a team which is stumbling to the end of the season.

Louisiana-Lafayette, though, is not in a very different position. The Ragin’ Cajuns were the class of the Sun Belt. They had been working on a string of consecutive bowl appearances and seemed to have everything going their way. However, this season has gone sideways. Not only is the team 4-7, and only 3-7 against Division I teams; the Cajuns have been hit by NCAA penalties for misdeeds that will reflect negatively on head coach Mark Hudspeth, whose career seems to have stalled. The Cajuns just lost to Appalachian State, one of the better teams in the Sun Belt, by a 28-7 count. ULL used to be one of the few teams in the conference which set the high standard and dared other teams to match it. Now, other teams are setting the standard and the Cajuns are watching lots of teams pass them by in the standings. It’s been painful to watch.

Line Moves
This college football odds are posted as a pick-‘em, and the line has not changed from the open. Bettors think that two teams which have been very disappointing this season will not create a lot of certainty. It really is anybody’s guess as to which team will win this game.

Notable Injuries
Troy defensive lineman Seth Calloway is Melvin Lewis is questionable with an undisclosed injury. Running back Jordan Chunn is out indefinitely with a collarbone injury.

Louisiana-Lafayette has cornerback Simeon Thomas listed as out indefinitely due to academics. Offensive lineman Mykhael Quave is out with a shoulder injury. Linebacker T.J. Worthy is questionable with a hamstring injury.

Handicapping The Game
The fact that ULL is in a bad position doesn’t mean Troy is good enough to take advantage. If choosing between two bad teams, the one playing at home with one more win on the resume should be the pick.
