Ranked Tennessee visits Florida, looking to overcome the Swamp Music. We have a dandy in SEC play and we serve up a college football pick on the moneyline.

A motivated Vols team heads to the Swamp coming off a beating of Western Carolina. They took down WCU 55-10 in an easy home game. We really do not have alot to mention about this game. The 31 2nd Qtr points the Vols scored in this affair is one of the few things to talk about. We will breifly note this players. Jalen Hurd scoring twice and Alvin Kamara running for a two-yard score on the way to a 34-3 lead. Western Carolina came up with a 32-yard field goal, but Evan Berry – Eric’s brother – responded with an 88-yard kickoff return for a score.

Are the Vols Worthy of Their 23rd Ranking?
We really have to wonder what we have in this Tennessee team. On one hand you have a team that completely melted down in week 2 against Oklahoma choking a 14 point lead at home in the 4th Qtr. On other hand you have a team that dominated the rest of there opponents sending MAC powerhouse Bowling Green to a burial. Its hard to decipher if the Vols are capable of beating there arch nemeis the Fla Gators.

Florida Struggles Mightly on Offense Against Kentucky, but Defense Shines
The streak lives on. In a defensive slugfest, Florida got a one-yard touchdown run from Will Grier midway through the first, and a three-yard touchdown run from Kelvin Taylor in the final few seconds of the second. Those would be all the points they’d need. Kentucky kept stalling, only scoring Austin MacGinnis field goals from 29 in the first and 22 and 45 in the fourth. ntucky had a few chances, but its final drive was snuffed out by an interception. Now we can put a little stock into this victory because Ky is better than advertised than previous years. We can actually talk up a Gator defense that flys to the ball. They seem like they can stop most offenses. They passed a test in Lexington.

Preview of Vols vs. Gators
Florida is still unbeaten – that’s all that really matters at the immediate moment. The new coaching staff has work to do, but the defense has been a rock so far and the offense at least has a little more efficiency and effectiveness compared to last season. With Ole Miss to follow, and followed up by three straight SEC games away from Gainesville, this is more than just a rivalry game. A win becomes a possible tone-setter, especially for the early part of the Jim McElwain era.

Once again, Tennessee needs to try to prove itself. For years, and in several key moments, there have been several chances for it to be Football Time In Tennessee at a higher level again, but there isn’t any consistency. The hot team in the East coming into the season, the crushing second half and two overtimes in the loss to Oklahoma felt like a major step back, especially at home. But with Arkansas and Georgia up next at home, one win over Florida on the road could really, truly, finally, actually, be the start of something bigger.

College Football Odds & Prediction
This is a game the Vols have always had a hard time dealing with. No matter where the game is played, Tennessee has struggled in this rivarly. It is shocking that the line movement in almost every sportsbook offshore had Florida as the early favorite and now has the game close to a pick'em as it can get on the college football odds board.

They are giving Tennessee way too much respect for our taste. Do not buy the hype. At the end of the day the Fla Gators own the Tennessee Vols. Doesn't matter if the games in Gainesville or Knoxville, it happens to fall in Gainesville this time, huge advantage for the Gators are there solid defense. If this was Nebraska and they had a good defense they would call them the Black Shirts, we will simple call this the Gator shirts that fly to the ball and stop you in your tracks. We like the Florida Gators to handle business for one of our college football picks and stop this overhyped overrated Vols squad. Final Score here: Florida 20 Tennessee 13.
