Despite being on the road, the Ducks are firm favorites on the college football odds board for this weekend's trip to play Colorado. Let's examine further.

Odds Overview
The Ducks are the road team on this occasion, yet they're still favored by a hefty margin for this Pac-12 battle. The current college football odds show Oregon laying 7.5 points.

We can expect to see a lot of points put on the board, as both teams have been having a lot of success offensively. As of now the total is trading all the way up at 68.5 points. Some sportsbooks are going as high as 69 in that regard.

Colorado Buffaloes
A 28-20 road loss to Hawaii wasn't exactly how the Buffaloes wanted to kick off the 2015 season, but they've turned things around in a hurry, having won three straight games heading into this weekend. They've topped UMass, Colorado State and Nichols State, with the only challenge coming against their rivals on a neutral field.

From an individual standpoint, the Buffaloes have gotten solid production out of QB Sefo Liufau, although he hasn't been asked to do too much in the offense. He's accounted for just four passing touchdowns in four games, as it's the run game that's been dominating for Colorado so far this season. The Buffaloes have already racked up 1,088 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground in four matchups. Impressive stuff. Christian Powell, Phillip Lindsay and Michael Adkins II have all topped 200 yards while recording nine running touchdowns between them. Unsurprisingly, Nelson Spruce remains the go-to option in the passing game for Liufau when throwing.

The Buffalos will be able to score points against Oregon's leaky defense, but it remains to be seen how successful they'll be in stopping the Ducks from enforcing their will when they have the ball.

Oregon Ducks
All in all, it's been a rough start to the season for the Ducks. They've alternated wins and losses through their first four games and will be taking a forgettable 2-2 record into Colorado this weekend. For a team that's been so darn good in recent seasons, it's certainly been a letdown, at least thus far.

Injuries haven't helped, of course, as Vernon Adams has been banged up and has been forced to miss some time already. Jeff Lockie has been decent when called upon, but isn't nearly the same threat running the ball as Adams is. Overall though, Oregon still has tons of talent offensively, with Royce Freeman leading the way out of the backfield. He's already racked up 450 rushing yards, 101 receiving yards and six total touchdowns on the year. Look for Bralon Addison to also get involved quite a bit.

This past week, we saw Oregon get crushed 62-20 at home to Utah in one of the most shocking games you'll ever see. The Ducks can really only go up from here, but it's hard to have much faith in them after such a letdown.

Betting Outlook
We have a good feeling about the Buffaloes this Saturday.

Over the years, we've gotten accustomed to seeing Oregon dominate opponents week after week, but that really hasn't been the case at all this season. Yes, the Ducks are still scoring a ton of points and will continue to do so, but they've been atrocious defensively, and they've already lost two of four games already.

Meanwhile, the Buffaloes are on quite a roll after a loss in their regular season opener, and their offense has been clicking on all cylinders, which bodes well for their chances of staying toe-to-toe with Oregon. With that thought in mind, we're going to take the points with our college football picks and bank on Colorado staying within striking distance and therefore covering as home underdogs.
