When filling your Week 2 College Football picks against the spread Tonight's game between Syracuse & Louisville must be included. Our expert capper provides his insight and his exclusive predictions.

Louisville came out guns blazing in their opener and looked fantastic across the board. They will get a stiffer test today as they travel to take on Syracuse but the Cardinals are still a solid  double-digit road favorite. The Orange have a new coach and new outlook but is there any way they can hang with Bobby Petrino and his high octane offense?

Syracuse Orangemen
Syracuse gained 554 total yards in their opener with 437 coming through the air in beating Colgate 33-7. Of course, this is a completely different level they will be facing today and it is not easy to get a gauge on how good or bad the Orange might be this season based on this one game versus and overmatched foe. The same goes for Louisville in their trouncing of Charlotte. Syracuse I believe will be able to score today as the Cardinals, although improved, won't be immune to giving up some yards to the now pass happy Orangemen and returning starting quarterback Eric Dungey. It seems like he will have some decent weapons to throw to this season with some solid skill players at the receiver positions.

Defensively they will be tested today against an electric offense but I believe they will be able to get enough stops to stay within the number.  They do return all three of their linebackers which should help contain at least a bit the uptempo Cardinals in making tackles in the open field.  We should see a lot of zone coverage as well from them in order to try and keep Louisville contained. Of course, this is all easy to say and much harder to accomplish but the Orange do catch Louisville in a tough spot with a huge game looming for them next week.

Louisville Cardinals
Louisville gained an amazing 663 yards and 70 points versus overmatched Charlotte in their first game of the year. Head coach Bobby Petrino has a nice club it seems and they definitely should be the solid favorite that oddsmakers have made them in this matchup. However, as mentioned it is still a bit tough to gauge them until they play a quality opponent so I believe we will learn more about them today. That being said this a tough spot for Louisville with Florida State coming up next and laying double digits on the road to a Syracuse team with a completely different offensive mindset. There is no doubt Louisville will be one of the better teams in the country this year and quarterback Lamar Jackson will be a force to be reckoned with in the ACC

On the defensive side, they do have several returners but this is also a defense that allowed 212 passing yards per game which ranked them out of the top 50 nationally. Although I expect them to score I expect Syracuse to score as well and put up enough to stay within the number. Louisville wins in a shootout by just over a touchdown in what should be an entertaining game.

NCAA football odds
Most of the top rated online sportsbooks have Louisville as a 14.5 to 15 point favorite across the board at regular juice. For my NCAA football pick, I'm pointing to back the Syracuse Orangemen to stay within the number and grab them at +15 like at Heritage. I really like head coach Dino Babers and I believe their newfound passing game will keep this semi-interesting.
