Trojans take the short flight to Tempe with history & talent advantage on there side while the Sun Devils look like a very bad team this year, so where are we placing our college football picks?
Trojans stormed out to early lead vs. Stanford, only to see there defense fold every time down the crucial stretch of the game. We are not exactly sure if Steve Sarkisian is still boozed up and taking pills, but it would seem as if his defense was out to lunch against a veteran laid Stanford squad. To say the defense got pummeled against the Cardinal is an understatement, 41 points given up at home is just flat out unexceptionable. Something has to change for the Trojans or Steve S will be looking for a new job soon. He is already on the extreme hot seat for the stunt he pulled in his drunken stupor.
Arizona State looked like the equivalent of dog meat last time out against New Mexico. Demario Richards was the only shining spot for the Sun Devils team that seemed to get absolutely bogged down in the first half by a Lobos defense that can mirror a high school squad at times. That defense and the rest of the offense looked like utter trash the entire game. These Sun Devils are so pathetic with the spread on the college football odds against New Mexico they failed to convert a 1st and Goal at the 5 yard line and had to settle for a FG therefore not covering a Friday night home game. They are a sweet 0-3 ATS and a definitely a team that belongs as a candidate to be in our doghouse for a long time.
USC vs. Arizona State Betting Preview
The Arizona State Sun Devils (2-1) and the USC Trojans (2-1) duke it out in the desert, both trying to avoid falling to .500. Check out the USC vs. Arizona State prediction and game preview. Arizona State and USC have already dropped a game this month. A second loss this early is likely to change the entire tone and direction of the 2015 season. Relatively speaking, the Trojans—and their staff—are facing far more pressure than Arizona State in Week 4. Not only does Troy have a Pac-12 loss—ASU fell to Texas A&M in the opener—but it flopped at home to Stanford last week as a double-digit favorite. All of the off season chatter of this being USC’s year to climb back to prominence was muzzled by the Cardinal.
Oh, and if it seems as if Steve Sarkisian is feeling the heat today, the mercury will be soaring if he starts the year 0-2 in league play. It’s kind of hard to get a good read on Arizona State right now, since the team has yet to pitch a complete game. The Sun Devils faded against the Aggies and were uninspired in subsequent wins over Cal Poly and New Mexico. Can a visit from No. 18 USC perk up Todd Graham’s squad? ASU better be ready to execute at a higher level, because the Trojans will be playing with a sense of urgency.
College Football Odds & Prediction
Arizona State stunned USC on a Hail Mary last fall. This meeting won’t be as dramatic, but it’ll again be close and exciting. The Trojans and the Sun Devils are similar teams with similar objectives, avoiding that second crushing loss. The offenses will dictate the tempo, and both quarterbacks will impress NFL scouts in attendance. However, something is missing for ASU, an inability to bring it for all four quarters. USC, with a little more resolve and a little better skill talent, will exploit the Devils’ weaknesses to exact revenge for last season’s excruciating loss on a Bercovici last-second fling. Our college football pick is a shootout here and even though we dogged out the Sun Devils we see a late score giving them the backdoor cover.
