A big battle is brewing in the Big Ten this weekend when the Wisconsin Badgers host Ohio State, and we've got a free college football pick for the matchup.

Will Saturday's prime-time matchup in Madison between Ohio State and Wisconsin help the Badgers climb right back into the Big Ten Championship picture, or will the Buckeyes catch up to Michigan at the top of the conference race?

Inquiring minds want to know, and the best way to get an answer is tuning in at 8 PM (ET) when ABC begins its broadcast from Camp Randall Stadium. One of three-weekend battles between ranked teams, the No. 2 Buckeyes are favored by 10 over the No. 8/10 Badgers at Bookmaker, right where the top-rated sportsbook began the spread before it danced up to 11. The scoreboard hurdle is down to 44 after beginning at 48.

Ohio stats has a commanding 57-18-5 in the rivalry, winning the last four with the most recent meeting a 59-0 shellacking in the 2014 Big Ten Championship in a game that closed with Wisconsin as slight favorites on the NCAA football odds. The other three in the 4-game Buckeyes' streak went 2-1-1 O/U/P against the numbers. Four of the last seven have finished 'under' with another pushing the total.

UW With Extra Week To Prep For OSU

Ohio State (5-0 straight up, 4-1 against the spread) reaches Madison off a somewhat lackluster win over Indiana a week ago. It marked the first time this year the Buckeyes failed to cover the line, falling about TD short of that in the 38-17 victory. Urban Meyer's side did look good running the football against a Hoosiers D that had allowed less than 140 yards per game on the ground before meeting up with OSU, but the Buckeyes never could get anything going through the air until a late scoring strike from JT Barrett to Dontre Wilson sealed things.

It has been two weeks since Wisconsin (4-1 SU & ATS) dropped a tough defensive battle to the Wolverines in Ann Arbor. The 14-7 setback was close enough for the Badgers to cash as 11 point road 'dogs, but Paul Chryst's club won't take much solace in that, especially after a dismal performance in which they only totaled 159 yards on offense. Freshman Alex Hornibrook was picked off three times in his second collegiate start, two of the errant throws coming late in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State isn't reporting any new injuries; Wisconsin might be without starting defensive end Chikwe Obasih (leg) who is questionable, and the Badgers could be thin in the offensive backfield with both Bradrick Shaw (shoulder) and Taiwan Deal (leg) also on the questionable list.

Mother Nature Might Have Hand In Outcome

College Football bettors will definitely want to get updates on the weather forecast before making their wagers. Right now, it's not looking good with a 90% chance of rain in Madison beginning late Saturday afternoon and going on through the evening. It should be in the low-60s at kickoff, a 15-16 mph blow from the SW also figuring into the equation.

Both QBs are coming off poor passing performances, but at least Barrett can make up for that at times with his legs, something Hornibrook cannot. I'm just not sold on the Badgers being able to put up many points, and will trust my free college football pick in the Buckeyes to put up enough. OSU, 28-13.
