Our college football handicapping professional has made a boat load of money for readers during the past four-plus seasons. Go inside for his three college football underdog picks on Saturday’s card.

College Football Week 2 Picks

Similar to last season, I’ll be providing Sportsbook Review readers with a weekly college football three-team round-robin parlay. It will consist of three two-team parlays all bet at equal value. It’s imperative that you don’t include a three-team parlay in that mix. You want to assure yourself of a profit if we win two of those three college football picks, and of course our ultimate goal is to hit the jackpot by winning all of those predictions. If you aspire to get a bit more aggressive, then I’d advise betting all three teams as separate point spread wagers.

Note: All the point spreads used in this article are courtesy of some of the best sportsbooks from a credibility standpoint.

Cincinnati vs Purdue 12:00 PM ET
Cincinnati opened their 2016 season with a 28-7 win over Tennessee-Martin. The contest was much closer than the final score indicates. The Bearcats actually trailed 7-6 at the half, and it was a one-possession game with less than six minutes to play. Based on Cincinnati closing as a 37.5-point favorite, it’s not a stretch to say this game was more competitive than Cincinnati fans had hoped for. Cincinnati committed 3 turnovers, and they allowed their FCS opponent to rush for 177 yards. As a matter of fact, Tennessee-Martin held a time of possession advantage of 37:06 to 22:54.

Since 2013, Cincinnati has gone a dismal 2-4 straight up, and 0-6 ATS in non-conference away games. Their only two wins during that sequence both came against Miami-Ohio. Those Miami teams finished those seasons with an abysmal 0-12 record in 2013 and 3-9 during its 2015 campaign. Needless to say, those victories were less than inspiring.

Purdue didn’t have nearly as difficult a time against Eastern Kentucky. The Boilermakers jumped out to a 21-0 lead and then cruised home for a 45-21 win. They exhibited an impressive and balanced offensive attack, gaining 261 yards rushing (6.7 YPR) in addition to 251 through the air.

It’s put up or shut up time for Purdue’s head coach Darrell Hazell. He’s entering his fourth season at Purdue and has a combined 7-30 record. Making matters worse, 4 of those 7 wins came versus FCS opponents. Purdue hasn’t started a season 2-0 since 2009. A win against Cincinnati would do wonders for a football program in dire need of something positive to build on.

Bookmaker is one of the few sportsbooks that currently (9/9) has Purdue +6.0, opposed to the majority of others who are at +5.5. If you don’t already have an account at Bookmaker, now’s a good a time as any to open one. As a matter of fact, you’ll also be eligible for free bonus money, and a size of which is dependent upon the actual size of your deposit.

Middle Tennessee State vs Vanderbilt 4:00 PM ET
It looks like the same old Vanderbilt after watching them in their season-opening loss at home to South Carolina. It was a golden opportunity to get off to a positive start against what many considered to be this year’s SEC weakling. Nevertheless, the Commodores squandered a 4th quarter lead and lost a game they were favorite to win. The offense once again looks anemic. Their running game certainly seems adequate, but based on last week’s performance, the Commodores aerial attack isn’t going to strike fear into any opposing defense.

Middle Tennessee State is one of the favorites this year to win Conference USA. The Blue Raiders opened with a 55-0 win over Alabama A&M, and even managed to cover as a massive 47.0-point favorite. They’ll also be out to revenge a narrow 17-13 home loss to Vanderbilt last season. The Blue Raiders have an underrated sophomore quarterback in Brent Stockstill. He’s the son of head coach Rick Stockstill, and led the nation’s freshmen quarterbacks a year ago in total yards and passing touchdowns. I’m going with the road underdog for one of my college football week 2 tips.

North Carolina vs Illinois 7:30 PM ET
This game opened with North Carolina installed as a 9.5-point favorite. At the time of this writing, that number has dwindled down to 7.5. That movement has taken place despite a higher volume of general public point spread wagers being made on North Carolina. When I see that type of reverse line movement, most times than not, it’s an indicator of sharp and larger bets going the opposite way of public wagering.

The Tar Heels opened their season last Saturday with a loss against Georgia. Conversely, Illinois trounced Murray State 52-3 in their opening game. The collection of this statistical data qualifies for an exceedingly successful college football wagering system, and it’s an integral part why I’m advising taking the home underdog for one your college football week 2 picks.

Any non-conference home team (Illinois) that’s +3.0 to +10.0, playing in game 2 of their season, and they’re coming off a non-conference win in which they scored 22 points or more, versus an opponent (North Carolina) also playing in game 2 of their season, resulted in those home underdogs going 42-11 ATS (79.2%) since 1983.
