Back on track

Miami snapped a three-game losing streak by picking up a 45-26 victory over the Virginia Cavaliers as 20.5-point home favorites last Saturday, while going OVER the betting total in each of those affairs.

The Hurricanes benefited greatly by forcing the Cavaliers to turn the ball over four times, which bumped its turnover margin to plus-four on the season.

Bowl eligible

Pittsburgh hopes to enhance its postseason profile after becoming bowl eligible last Saturday, as it picked up a 17-16 victory over the Syracuse Orange as one-point road underdogs.

The Panthers will have 18 seniors playing their final home game in this affair, including three that hail from the state of Florida.

Defensive tackle Aaron Donald has been a disruptive force during his final year—leading the country in averaging 2.4 tackles for loss per game.

Dominating the series

College football handicappers will find that the Hurricanes have won 15 of the last 16 meetings int hie series, with their last loss coming in 1997 before a Thursday night ESPN television audience.

It’s important to point out that Miami is 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against Pittsburgh, while the UNDER is on a 6-1 run.

Close shaves

Four of Pittsburgh’s five losses this season have been by a combined 31 points, while it’s most lopsided defeat came in its 41-13 season-opening loss to Florida State—a team that has been outscoring foes by 43.8 points on the season.

The Panthers are dangerous home underdogs due to the fact that they protect the football—committing just 25 turnovers since the start of the 2012 campaign.
