Georgia Tech and Miami square off in a must-see ACC battle this Saturday. The Canes come to town with a great 3-0 start while the Yellow Jackets are in full bounce-back mode. Our capper provides his expert free pick inside.

Hurricanes Coming to Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech (3-1) will host the #14 Miami (3-1) Hurricanes in an ACC battle on Saturday. The opening kickoff from Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta is slated for Noon ET. Since 2009, Miami has gone a very successful 6-1 SU&ATS against Georgia Tech, and that includes last year’s 38-21 win as a 2.0-point home underdog.

College Football Week 5 Odds: Miami Fla. vs. Georgia Tech
At the time of this writing, college football betting odds at Bookmaker indicates that Miami is a 7.0-point road favorite, and there a total of 52.0. Bookmaker is widely regarded as one of the top online betting sites.

Impressive Start for Canes
The Miami Hurricanes are 3-0 SU&ATS through their first 3 games, and have a dominating winning margin of 43.3 points per game. They were off last week, and destroyed a very good Appalachian St. team by a score of 45-10 in their previous game, in addition to covering easily as a 3.5-point road favorite.

Miami has emphatically controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball during those 3 wins. They’re allowing opponents a mere 65 yards rushing per game, and hold them to a paltry 1.6 yards per attempt. Conversely, the Canes are gaining an average of 272 yards rushing per game, while doing so at a robust clip of 7.7 yards per attempt.

Gut Check for Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech entered last Thursday’s (9/22) ESPN nationally televised game against #5 Clemson with an unscathed 3-0 record. They also had the extra incentive of being a 10.5-point home underdog. Nevertheless, they were hardly a match for the Tigers, and were soundly beaten 26-7. Quite frankly the game wasn’t even remotely close to what the final score indicated. The prolific Georgia Tech triple-option rushing attack was held to 95 yards and 2.5 yards per attempt. As a matter of fact, Clemson held a massive 442-124 edge in total yards.

College Football Betting Angle and Pick
Any college football favorite of 4.5 to 9.0, coming off an away favorite ATS win in which they scored 31 points or more, versus an opponent coming off a home underdog ATS loss, resulted in those favorites going 13-0 ATS. The favorites won those contests by a convincing 21.9 points per game.

Georgia Tech won’t be able to match the physicality of Miami’s offensive and defensive lines. New head coach Mark Richt has his alma mater headed back to its glory days, and well ahead of schedule. I’m laying the points in this one for one of my college football week 5 predictions.
