Yes, it’s that time of the season for 'super-surgers vs. towel-tossers' and expert capper Joe Gavazzi takes a look into the odds for Wyoming vs UNLV and provides a free pick.

Wyoming (-7) vs UNLV 3:30 ET

Each week in this space, I offer a CFB STEAMROLLER OF THE WEEK.  The selection is designed to isolate a contest in which one team will dominate the line of scrimmage. In so doing, they will either double rush their opponent or use a balanced, explosive attack to gain 200 or more yards both running and passing, while their opponent does not. Each of these situations is a long-term 75% pointspread winner in CFB action. Last week, double rushers were 31-7 ATS (82%), while 200 Club teams went 19-2 ATS (90%) winners.

With 6 losses already and consecutive defeats to San Jose and Colorado St., UNLV clearly counts as a towel-tosser. The signal caller position is in turmoil as the Rebels’ 4th QB this season, red-shirt frosh QB Sneed, was yanked in last week’s game vs. the Spartans. With UNLV on a 1-7 ATS run as home dog, there is little reason to believe they come with their best effort today. That is clearly not the case for today’s visitor, Wyoming.

When 3rd year HC Bohl took over the program, it was expected he would author an immediate turnaround, based on the success of his N. Dakota St. Bison and their multiple FCS Championships.  After 2 years, the record was 6-18 SU with an average of only 20 PPG on the offensive end. This year with 17 RS, mostly his own recruits, the light bulb clicked “on.” The Cowboys enter today with Bowl bid in hand on the basis of a 7-2 SU ATS mark, including 5 consecutive wins and covers, once the gun went off for the start of MWC play. Four of the 5 victories (except a 2 point win vs. then, undefeated Boise) have all come by 8 or more points. In 3 of the 5 games, they have double rushed their opponent. In the last 2 wins, there have been 200 Club performances. Why not against an UNLV defense that has been “200 Clubbed” in 3 of their last 4 losses? Worried about a Wyoming letdown? I don’t think so! In a 3-year span at the helm of the Bison, Bohl’s teams went 43-2 SU.

With the MWV crown in sight, expect 100% momentum effort from the Cowboys today!  I invite you to put the College Football ODDS in your favor and join me in my College Football PICK on Wyoming today.
