SBR contributor Ross Benjamin has gone an awesome 31-13 ATS (70%) over the past 5 plus weeks with his college football picks. He provides us with a preview on Saturday’s ACC battle between Florida St and NC State.

College Football Odds: Florida State vs. NC State

#19 Florida State will take on North Carolina State on Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh. The opening kickoff is set for 7:00 PM ET, and it will be televised by ESPNU. Florida State has defeated NC State in each of the past 3 years, and outscored them by a cumulative margin of 139-75 (21.3 PPG).

The college football betting odds at Bookmaker indicates that Florida State is a 5.0-point favorite, and there’s a total of 58.0. Bookmaker is widely regarded to be one the best sportsbooks online. They’re presently offering new customers 50% cash bonuses on all initial deposits of up to $300.

Slumping Wolfpack

After nearly pulling off a monumental upset at #3 Clemson 4 weeks ago, NC State has looked anything like that team during losses in its following 2 games. They’ll be entering Saturday on a 3-game losing streak. Furthermore, following a 4-0 SU&ATS start at home, the Wolfpack lost 21-14 in Raleigh last Saturday to Boston College, and did so as a sizable 14.0-point favorite. That defeat came against a Boston College team which had lost 11 consecutive ACC games at the time.

NC State has struggled to run the football throughout their previous 2 games, evidenced by a combined 48 yards rushing on 45 carries (1.1 YPR) in those outings. The Wolfpack have also been plagued by 8 turnovers during this current 3-game losing streak.

Best 3-Loss Team in the Country

Florida State comes into this week with a somewhat uninspiring 5-3 record. That description may seem a bit harsh, but considering they’ve gone 34-2 during regular season games over the past 3 seasons, their bar is set much higher than most college football programs. However, their 3 losses in 2016 have come against #3 Clemson, #5 Louisville, and #18 North Carolina. Those teams have combined to go 21-3 (.875) this season. Speaking of Clemson, Florida State is coming off a narrow 37-34 loss last Saturday to the Tigers, and did manage to cover as a 5.0-point home underdog.

Final Analysis and Pick

NC State appears to be on a freefall since losing that heartbreaker in overtime at Clemson. Since 2013, NC State is 0-5 SU&ATS as a home underdog of 13.0 or less, and lost by an average of 18.0 points per game. Conversely, Florida State is a perfect 6-0 SU&ATS during their previous 6 regular season games following a loss, and won by 21.8 points per contest. I’m going with the road favorite as one of my college football week 10 predictions.
