The college football season is here now, it's a good time to take our last look at what the college football odds makers are thinking and where the money is moving on odds to win the National Championship.

Where Do the NCAAF Odds Stand?
Just a little over a month ago I wrote a piece on my Super Six which were my top choices to win the college football national championship. You can read that article here  but for those who are too weary to click allow me to post those schools here with the odds a month ago and the college football odds now.

Ohio State (+300 and now +250) - It's not surprising that the defending national champs are getting a whole lotta love from the betting public. They are getting bet down from even the chalky +300 and are now sitting at an even chalkier +250. Seems like a bit of an overreaction to a team that will have plenty of talented teams in the mix for college football's biggest prize.

Alabama (+750 and now +700) - Nick Saban's Crimson Tide is always gunning for the national crown and this season is a chance to atone for a stunning loss to Oregon State in the semi-final Sugar Bowl. Bama was the top seed and were ousted by the fourth ranked Ducks but this is a new year for them and it's not surprising that the Tide has come down a click from late July.

Auburn (+900 and now +1400) - The Tigers are not getting much love from the betting public but that is to be expected when you have sexier teams like Alabama and Ohio State getting all the adulation and attention. The Tigers offense should put up plenty of crooked numbers but the defense will still give any seasoned gambler plenty of cause for pause.

TCU (+1000 and now +700) - The Horned Frogs will be explosive again this season just as long as Heisman Trophy favorite Trevone Boykin stays healthy. Boykin is an all-everything quarterback who has plenty of weapons at his disposal to get the job done. Though the Frogs had a few major defections on defense with Paul Dawson and Chris Hackett moving on to the NFL they should still remain a stout defensive unit despite a very green linebacking corps.

USC (+1600 and now +2000) - Like many of the top teams in the nation the Trojans appear to be locked and loaded on offense but defense may be an issue with the departures of Leonard Williams and last season's leading tackler Hayes Pullard. Quarterback Cody Kessler is a giant in the locker room and on the field after setting a USC record with 39 touchdown passes. Factor in an offensive line that remains intact from last season and USC has to be considered a major threat, as well as a real betting value, to take home the hardware.

Notre Dame (+1800 and now +1200) - The college football odds on the Fighting Irish have dropped considerably and those who pine for a return to glory for Notre Dame could not be happier. Speed merchant Will Fuller is the man to watch as he will be beginning the season as one of the premier wideouts in all the land. But once again we have a team that has the chops to score but may not be able to stop anyone when their defense takes the field.
