Week 2 is here and if you are looking for some exclusive college football predictions, you are in the right place. Today our capper analyzes which team is the big dog of the week, the underdog that could cash big.

Northern Illinois at South Florida (-15) 7:00 ET CBC TV

What a fantastic start to the 2016 football season on this site!  Combined with a 3-0 ATS mark on NFL-X games, the College Football selections in Week 1 went 7-1 ATS for a combined mark of 10-1 ATS to begin your football season! I assure you that every weekend will not be that good.  But, if you follow the advice in my analyses this season, there is an extremely, high probability you will have more winners than losers.

After performing at greater than 7,000 feet of altitude, well into the wee hours of the night, Northern Illinois must now regroup, traveling to the heat and humidity of Tampa to face a South Florida team that cruised over Towson for an opening day victory. Yet, the results of those opening week games for each team has resulted in huge line value for the Huskies.

In his 4th year at the helm of the S. Florida Bulls, HC Willie Taggart is doing an excellent job in returning USF to prominence.  In his first season, the Bulls were 2-10 SU being outscored 29-14. Last year, in an 8-5 SU, 8-3 ATS season, the Bulls outscored the opposition by an average of 34-23. The key to the success has been a ground game that averaged 90/3.0 in 2013 compared to 247/5.4 last season. In their opening day (56-20) win and cover over Towson, the Bulls ran and passed for 214 yards, making them a member of the vaunted 200 Club.  In fact, building on the 75% record of 200 Club members, who both run and pass for 200 yards in a game (while their opponent does not), saw these teams record a 13-1 ATS record in opening week play. That doesn’t happen today, however. As the recent 11-3 ATS point spread mark of S. Florida has inflated the price to the point where the value has swung the opposite way.

N. Illinois suffered an injury-plagued season in 2015. Despite a unique set of circumstances in the closing week, which allowed the Huskies to win their 6th consecutive MAC West Title, they were a shell of their former selves. They finished the season 0-3 SU ATS, including a MAC Title loss to Bowling Green (34-14) and a Bowl loss to Boise St. (55-7). Last week, they were in a tough situation traveling to the 7,200 feet of altitude of Laramie, Wyoming and then waiting through a storm delay, which delayed the start of the game till nearly midnight ET. The 40-34 OT loss drops the recent Husky record to 0-4 SU ATS, making them one of the hungriest teams on the board this week. Expect the bounce behind QB Hare, who has a career 37/6 ratio and tossed for 329 PY at Wyoming last week. The Huskies have always been one of the nation’s best travelers and bring a record of 15-4 ATS as road dog into today’s contests. Truly qualifying them as the BIG DOG OF THE WEEK!
