Our college football analyst provides us with an early betting preview on Friday’s Baylor and Rice game. Go inside to read this alluring article which concludes with a college football pick.

Rice is Massive Underdog in Home Opener
The Rice Owls will play their home opener on Friday night when they host 21st ranked Baylor. The opening kickoff at Rice Stadium in Houston, Texas is slated for 8:00 PM ET, and it will be televised by ESPN. Since 1993, Baylor has gone a perfect 7-0 SU&ATS against Rice, and that includes last season’s 70-17 demolition of the Owls in Waco. The Bears easily covered that contest as a 33.0-point home favorite.

At the time of this writing, college football betting odds at Bookmaker shows Baylor as a 29.5-point road favorite, and there was no posted total. Keep in mind for future reference, both Baylor and Rice have gone under the total in each of their first two games. By the way, be sure to check out current bonuses offered at Bookmaker as well.

Baylor Offense vs. Rice Defense Mismatch
Rice’s defense allowed pass-happy Western Kentucky to throw for massive 552 yards in their season-opening defeat. Then last Saturday, against an Army team that possesses virtually no passing game, the Owls stop unit surrendered 348 yards rushing.

As opposed to Rice’s first two opponents, Baylor’s offense is far more balanced. The Bears have gained a combined 550 yards rushing and 498 yards passing through two games.

Based on the aforementioned offensive (Baylor) and defensive (Rice) numbers, there’s a high likelihood of Rice allowing Baylor to gain 500 yards or more. Since 2014, when Rice’s defense allows opponents 500 yards or more of total offense, they’ve proceeded to go 0-8 SU&ATS, and lost by an average of 35.6 points per game.

College Football Betting Angle
Baylor has opened its season with two straight wins. They hammered Northwestern State 55-7 in their season opener, and followed that up with last Saturday’s 40-13 rout of SMU.

Rice’s 2016 campaign has begun on the opposite side of the spectrum. The Owls were blown out in each of its first two games. They opened with a 46-14 loss at Western Kentucky, and this past Saturday were defeated 31-14 at Army.

The combination of these teams four results in 2016 qualifies for an extremely profitable college football betting angle. In a game in which my lean is very small at best, a handicapping method such as this becomes an important factor when making my college football picks.

Any road favorite of 14.0 or more, coming off two straight games in which they allowed 14 points or less, versus an opponent which surrendered 31 points or more during their preceding two games, resulted in those road favorites going 16-1 (94.2%) ATS since 2008.
