The college football odds swings into a full week of bowl action, there will be two games for Tuesday the 22nd, so get things rolling with these games in Boise & Boca Raton.

The Aggies will be playing in a stadium they’re familiar with, given their presence in the Mountain West Conference. They know how to deal with the blue turf and the other differences that are part of playing in Boise State’s stadium. More importantly, Utah State backup quarterback Kent Myers has ample experience under center; though officially not the starter on opening day, he’s started many games over the past few seasons, since opening day starter Chuckie Keeton has been injured so often. Utah State knows where it has to make up for its deficiencies on offense. The Aggies have a stout and resolute defense which should be able to keep Akron in check. The Zips never came particularly close to threatening to win their division in the MAC. They are at the lower end of the food chain in terms of the MAC’s various bowl invitations. There shouldn’t be much about the Zips which is likely to threaten Utah State’s defense, and that should be enough to convince bettors that the Aggies are the better choice in this game. Utah State should be able to win by a couple of touchdowns, probably with a score in the range of 24-10, and cover the college football odds.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2960418, "sportsbooksIds":[169,1096,93,19,92,238], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

College Football Pick: Utah State -6.5
Best Line Offered: at Bovada

Boca Raton Bowl: Toledo Rockets vs. Temple Owls
The key point to make here is that while Temple coach Matt Rhule has decided to stick with the team for next season, giving the Owls needed continuity and the added bonus of a motivated team which loves to play for him, Toledo is in the exact opposite situation. The Rockets watched their coach over the past several seasons, Matt Campbell, move to Iowa State. It’s true that Toledo could be inspired to play for its new coach, Jason Candle, who was the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Hiring someone internally should minimize the distractions for the Rockets, which will simply have Candle handling the offense and the defense remaining under the supervision of the defense-focused assistants which were already on staff. However, the fact that Temple has enjoyed stability in terms of coaching might be the better point to emphasize here. The Owls gave Notre Dame a tough time and shut down a high-powered Memphis offense. They contained Houston and did not get run out of the stadium in the American Athletic Conference Championship Game. They make adjustments and almost always prevent games from slipping out of control. Against a Toledo team which was very inconsistent on offense in November, Temple’s defense should be able to dictate the way this game is played. The Owls represent the much better choice, so take them with your college football picks.

[/]{"component":"oddswidget", "eventId":2960419, "sportsbooksIds":[169,1096,93,19,92,238], "LineTypeId":1, "PeriodTypeId":1}[/]

College Football Pick: Temple -1.5
?Best Line Offered: at The Greek
