Are you prepared for the upcoming college football season?

Thursday, Aug. 29: North Carolina Tar Heels at South Carolina Gamecocks

UNC opens on the road against the No. 7 Gamecocks, with South Carolina favored as 11-point ‘chalk.’ South Carolina is 5-2 ATS in its last seven matchups with non-conference foes, while winning last year’s first four home games by a combined margin of 163-33.

NCAAF Pick: South Carolina Gamecocks -11 at

Friday, Aug. 30: Texas Tech Red Raiders at Southern Methodist Mustangs

Southern Methodist opened as six-point home dogs on the college football odds, with the rivals meeting for the first time since Texas Tech’s 35-27 home triumph in 2010. The Mustangs cashed at 5-1 ATS in last year’s six home dates, while Texas Tech gave up 43.7 PPG in their final six matchups en route to a 0-6 spread record.

NCAAF Pick: SMU Mustangs +6 at

Saturday, Aug. 31: Boise State Broncos at Washington Huskies

Boise State and Washington meet in a rematch from this past December’s Las Vegas Bowl, where the Huskies cashed as 3.5 point dogs in a 28-26 defeat. Washington went 4-1 in its five home spots last season, while made 3.5-point ‘chalk’ by sports books in this opener.

Look for the Huskies to get some revenge as short faves here, handing Boise State a setback to start the year.

NCAAF Pick: Washington Huskies -3.5 at

Sunday, Sept. 1: Ohio Bobcats at Louisville Cardinals

Louisville opened as a 19.5-point home favorite, with early wagers lifting the number a ‘hook’ to 20. Charlie Strong’s squad cashed at 2-1 ATS in its three spots as double-digit home ‘chalk’ last year, including a 32-14 triumph over the Kentucky Wildcats in the season’s opener.

Ohio logged a 2-5 spread mark in its seven road dates last year, including sizable defeats at Ball State and Kent State to end the regular season. As college football picks, the Bobcats look to be outclassed again here, facing returning Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, who threw for 8.9 YPA and 27 touchdowns last season.

NCAAF Pick: Louisville Cardinals -20 at

Monday, Sept. 2: Florida State Seminoles at Pittsburgh Panthers

Pittsburgh starts its campaign as a 10-point underdog in this spot, making its debut of action in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Panthers collected at 3-2 ATS in their first five spots as dogs last year, including an upset over Virginia Tech with a 35-17 win at Heinz Field.

Florida State will have to step up here compared to last September’s 69-3 ‘cupcake’ blowout over Murray State to start the season. Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher has yet to face a challenging opener with this squad, while losing his share of standouts from a defense that ranked first against the pass in 2012.

NCAAF Pick: Pittsburgh Panthers +10 at
