"It's the most wonderful time of the year" is one of the most popular holiday songs in the US and it also applies to college football's bowl season. Here's a quick look at the schedule with TV, odds and totals with all times Eastern.

There were 128 football-playing FBS schools this year and 80 of them, or 62.5 percent, will play in a bowl game. Three of them, Hawaii, Mississippi State and North Texas, finished with losing records. The biggest spread as of now on college football odds is in the Peach Bowl, while three bowls the smallest with just a 1-point spread. The highest total belongs to the Boca Raton Bowl and the smallest in the Military and Outback Bowls. Happy betting!

The SEC leads with 12 bowl teams -- only Missouri and Ole Miss aren't playing extra football. But the SEC was just 6-8 in non-conference games against other Power Five teams during the regular season. Last year, the conference set a record with nine bowl wins (Alabama counted as two with the national championship).

But the Big Ten was the big winner with four schools in New Year's Six bowl games. A team that didn't even win its division, Ohio State, was the lone Big Ten school to reach the College Football Playoff. Finally, Virginia Tech of the ACC has the longest official bowl streak of 24 straight seasons. Fellow conference team Florida State is playing in a bowl for the 35th straight year, but the NCAA vacated FSU's 2006 Emerald Bowl victory over UCLA due to an academic issue. Yet if UCLA had won that game, FSU would still have the longest streak according to the NCAA.
