Oddsmakers have made Georgia Tech a decent size home underdog considering the fact that Clemson is ranked fifth in the country and that most people consider them a national title contender this season. However, they have explosive Louisville coming up next week so could this be a classic trap game for the Tigers?

Clemson Tigers
In their season opener, Clemson gained 399 yards total at Auburn and then went on to handedly win their next two games but dropped from 2nd to 5th in the polls. This team has everything you would like from an all-star quarterback to an all-star defense but I think this is a tough spot for them to come in and roll a Georgia Tech team that has started off the season really well. Last year Clemson did a great job in holding Georgia Tech to just 71 yards on the ground which was quite impressive considering the Yellow Jackets propensity to run the ball in their triple option.

However, that game was at Clemson and I have a hard time believing they're going to be able to be that consistent in stopping them tonight on the road. I believe they're going to be much more productive on the ground in this game, and defensively if they can force Clemson to put the ball in the air more than they're comfortable doing than they will stay within the number. Deshaun Watson is super talented but has not been that great through the air completing just 57% of his passes so far this season.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Georgia Tech went for 511 yards versus Vanderbilt last week with 289 of those coming on the ground in 38-7 win. So far it looks like this will be a bounce-back season for them although they did struggle somewhat versus Boston College in their opener. Defensively they have been really good and although most people look at their running offense it'll be the defense that makes the difference tonight. Having a veteran quarterback in Justin Thomas should help Georgia Tech as well gain some ground and eat some clock to keep this game close. This has all the makings of a much closer than anticipated game considering Georgia Tech should come in with a lot of confidence and Clemson might be looking ahead to their huge showdown with Louisville next week.

Clemson Tigers vs Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Oddsmakers have come out making Clemson a -9.5 favorite across the board with mostly higher juice on backing the Tigers. For my college football week 4 pick I am going to take the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets +9.5 with some good college football odds like at 5 Dimes -102.  This is good value on an improved Yellow Jacket team that will throw the kitchen sink at Clemson who might be peaking ahead to next week.
