The Bearcats are large 24.5-point favorites and need a convincing win after coming off a lackluster performance. Find out why we like them to do it in our college football Cincinnati and Tulane picks for Week 9.

The Cincinnati Bearcats are favored by more than three touchdowns against Tulane on Saturday, but they have not beaten the Tulane Green Wave by this spread in any of their last three meetings dating back to 2014.

Cincinnati is 5-2 against the spread this season and 6-2 ATS in its last eight conference games. Tulane, meanwhile, started the season 2-0 ATS but failed to cover the spread in each of its previous five games.

Here are my picks and predictions for the college football Week 9 matchup between Cincinnati and Tulane (odds via DraftKings; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Cincinnati vs. Tulane Odds Analysis

The Bearcats opened as 24-point road favorites, which is the third straight game they have been favored by at least 21. Tulane is still looking for its first cover in a conference game and has lost its last five contests by an average of 23.4 points per game.

The Over/Under of 62.5 points is the highest total of any game that kicks off before 3:00 p.m. ET on the college football Week 9 slate for Saturday. The Over has cashed in five of Cincinnati’s last six conference games and is 7-1 in Tulane’s last eight.

Cincinnati vs. Tulane Betting Predictions

Cincinnati -24.5 (–110)

Cincinnati’s 27-20 win over Navy snapped its streak as the only team in the country to beat all of its opponents by double digits this season. However, the Bearcats' four wins by 35 or more points are still the most in FBS. Chalk Cincinnati’s poor performance against Navy up to a unique offensive style that took the Bearcats out of their rhythm.

SMU put 55 points on Tulane last week, and the Green Wave have allowed at least 52 points in three of their previous five games. Cincinnati knows it needs style points in this game and should be licking its chops to get right against this leaky Tulane defense.

If Cincinnati does not break 50 in this game, it would be considered a disappointment. The Bearcats are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings against the Green Wave and should roll to an easy cover in this weekend matchup.

Over 62.5 (-110)

In the two games prior to playing Navy, Cincinnati scored 108 combined points and totaled 1,018 yards. Now it gets a Tulane team that ranks 128th in the country, allowing 42.3 points per game.

Many bettors will be down on Cincinnati after its 27-point output against the Midshipmen. Though it is difficult for teams to exceed their scoring averages against service academies, as the triple-option attack severely limits a game’s possessions.

Running back Jerome Ford averaged six yards per carry in the Bearcats' win over Navy, and he will provide an excellent complement to quarterback Desmond Ridder as Cincinnati will not punt much, if at all, in this game.

Tulane has averaged 30.5 points in its two games against ranked opponents, so bettors should not be worried about the Green Wave's chances of scoring as well. We are siding with the Over in our Cincinnati and Tulane college football picks.
