We’re doing a betting preview on Saturday’s game between Arizona & USC. Take a look inside to read our informative analysis on this contest, and it includes a college football pick.

Wildcats take on “The Men of Troy”
USC (5-3/3-2) will meet Arizona (5-4/2-4) in a PAC-12 contest on Saturday night. The opening kickoff at the Los Angeles Memorial Stadium is slated for 10:30 PM ET. Current (11/6) college football odds at Heritage have USC listed as a 19.5 point favorite, and the posted total is 67.0. USC defeated Arizona last year in Tempe by a score of 28-26. It’s worth noting, the last eight meetings between these teams have been all decided by 7 points or less.

Embarrassing Loss
Arizona was absolutely hammered 49-3 on the road last week by the Washington Huskies. It was their second loss in a row. The week before they were beaten 48-45 as a 7.0 point home favorite against Washington State. The Wildcats defense has been torched the last two games for a combined 1099 yards and 97 points. Arizona also added to their miseries by being a -5 turnover differential in those pair of defeats. With a conference record of 2-4, the only thing left to play for besides pride is an automatic bowl berth.

Still Alive and Well
What looked to be doom and gloom four weeks ago for USC has made a gradual 360 degree turn in the right direction. Following their 17-12 loss as a 16.0 point home favorite to Washington, then head coach Steve Sarkisian was fired. Enter interim head coach Clay Helton. After a bye week, USC traveled to #9 Notre Dame and give the Irish all they can handle before losing 41-31. The last two games have left USC fans, players, and coaches with a broad smile. First was the demolition of then #3 Utah 42-24 at home, and then last week defeated a very good California team 27-21 on the road. USC now finds itself tied for 2nd with UCLA in the PAC-12 South Division. They trail first place Utah by just 1.0 game, and hold the head to head tiebreaker. It’s a simple equation, if USC wins out, and Utah doesn’t, it will be the Trojans playing in the PAC-12 Title Game.

Final Take and Pick
One team USC is riding a wave of momentum and still has plenty to play for. The other (Arizona) has really floundered after getting off to a 3-0 start in their non-conference portion of its schedule. It would be hard to imagine Arizona playing much worse than they did last Saturday. It’s also difficult to envision a dramatic improvement, and especially on defense. I’m predicting a USC blowout for one of my college football picks on Saturday.
